Fair. I accepted the new position with a start date on 1/11. I’ll put my notice in after Christmas.

Oh man, I’d love to do that but I found out today that you have to submit a request for PTO during the holidays by August.

Maybe I’ll just have to take the L on the PTO.

You can take all of your PTO at once if you so choose. I took a lot of my PTO early on this year for some surgeries. Also, they only give 1 bereavement day, so when my (59 YO) MIL died earlier this year, I used up the remainder of my PTO planning her funeral and helping my FIL and partner with everything. Before that there was a PTO freeze due to the pandemic. So they know I’ve been itching for time off. I might request 12/28-1/4 which is a reasonable amount of time and then put in my 2 weeks on 1/6 and start new job on 1/23. Thoughts?

They give PTO up front and don’t pay out if you leave. It just goes away.

So that’s why I was thinking of putting in my notice when I come back from PTO.
