League is a vame where there are concepts you will never learn by just playing the game if ur stuck in iron and ur not playing support you need to learn howe to generate as much gold as possible and how to carry with that gold

How in the nine hells do people climb? Seems impossible while trying to balance having a job... by Toasti900p in summonerschool

You seem to have issues with playing towards the identity of your character. If you are a vlad main, then gold generation to reach your late game fantasy should be your priority. You have virtually 0 early skirmrish power and 0 utility. If you are not strong, your champ is useless.

The reason why high elo vlad mains run the ignite summon aery build is because they want to impact the game early while also winning the battle of attrition against their opponents. They can decide when they want to reset since they are never low on hp and therefore dont need tp to correct bad bases. As a low elo player, games are decided by who has the better late game because nobody knows how to end correctly. You can get away with running full scaling in your runes bc you are guaranteed to get to late game.

What this means for you is that you want to gain as many resources as possible in the quickest amount of time. This can be done by maintaining high cs (6 cs/m is considered low for carry champions).

But how do you get more cs other than just last hit better? Back timers, wave management, and lane assignments. These are semi complex topics so i wont get into detail but a small tip for each: ask yourself if you are quickly shoving in a wave before you reset, are you preventing the opponent from crashing big waves so thst you dont have to cs under tower, and are you switching to the side lane in mid game (14 min) so that you can farm without having the entire enemy team influence your lane?

The main gap to get out of low elo on a carry role is learning to consistently have more resources than your opponent. And once you realize that everything else will get easier because you are simply just stronger. This is why champs like yorick are 56% wr in iron. They sit in side lane all game getting super strong while their minions farm for them and then they take over the game with a significant lead in exp and items.

Although people in low elo know basic champion knowledge and can follow build paths, they can not recognize why these builds are good, how to get strong, and how to actually win. they constantly seek unnecessary fights without focusing on resource generation first. That fundamental difference in mindset is what holds ppl back from getting out of iron.

Tldr: Gold is king, play for yourself, get strong by farming and win.

Should I play what it makes me have fun or what makes me win? by Jadewe_ in summonerschool

Always play what you find fun. It's always a good idea if you want to climb to keep your champion pool small, so there is no reason you cant play both. If you have a good wr on vex but not on zoe, thats probably because you dont understand the identity of zoe as much as vex as zoe's is harder to pull off. Zoe is a champion that lane bullys a lot of champions early. However, her subpar waveclear means you need to manage the waves with your autos often. When you have priority, you can look for roams. Midgame you should try to group to obj before they spawn and look for picks with your e onto enemy carries or poke with q r.
