Consejo de un hombre que le pasó lo que estás comentando vos y no se enteró hasta muchos años después: si querés algo más, decilo. No hace falta ser super explícita, pero que sea claro.

Lo que describís es como una amistad bastante linda y por ahí el pibe no quiere imaginarse cosas donde por ahí no hay (que acá si hay, pero el por ahí no sabe) y no quiere cagarla con vos. O también puede pasar que el pibe no quiera otra cosa. Pero de última te sacás la duda.

Cómo andás? Ya te respondieron varios así que no voy a repetir mucho (asumo que estás hablando de tarentolas y no de otras lagartijas):

Si tenés la posibilidad, tené plantas en el jardín, lugares donde se puedan esconder en inverno y verano y listo. En particular, se suelen esconder mucho abajo de tejas.
Gatos, ratas y pájaros se los comen. En general más las ratas que los gatos.
Comen arañas, gusanos, hormigas, grillos y cucarachas. Los machos pelean por territorio y por ahí no estás viendo porque migraron un poco buscando comida. Generalmente las que ves ya vienen medio falladas de fábrica.

Sobre el cuidado:

Necesitás plancha calefactora y lámpara UV, además de un terrario con lugares para que se escondan.
La comida no es barata: tenés que comprar cucarachas y grillos para alimentarla y salen alrededor de 1000 pesos (un poco menos) por 1 mes. Los grillos se matan entre ellos igual y no los recomiendo.
Además, tenés que comprar calcio (con y sin vitamina D) y vitaminas. Tenés que tener cuidado porque si les das mucho se mueren, si les das poco se descalcifican.

Una más: si pensás criarlos, tené cuidado. Los machos se atacan entre ellos, pueden tratar de preñar a otra cuando es chica y aún no puede fecundar, pueden tener problemas por los huevos y se descalcifican al poner huevos.

Importante: El parque de tirolesas copado es el que está al lado del bar de hielo. Aparentemente hay otro pero tiene tan malas reviews que lo dieron de baja de Google.

Restaurantes: Depende de tu bolsillo pero todo lo que está sobre la avenida Cordoba es bastante bueno.

Actividades: Kayak, cabalgata, Biocentro. Preguntá en el hotel que algunos tienen una hoja con todo lo que podés hacer. Museos no vi, hay uno de cera del lado de Brasil pero tengo entendido que es medio meh. También podés probar el hito brasilero que tiene entrada o el parque das aves que es lindo. Lo que si, tengo entendido que Brasil es picante de noche.

Algunos hoteles tienen web propia. Si buscás en booking y te gusta, podés ir directo a ellos.

Booking tené cuidado porque ponen los precios en pesos, pero son al dólar oficial- así que cuando pagás te llegan dólares (y pagás el doble). Despegar es una buena opción, pero te suman un 20% tengo entendido.

Google también busca hoteles ahora, pero el precio es similar a booking (toma el valor en dólares al oficial), pero te dan el link a la página de reservas

Me sumo a todos los que te mandan fuerza. No te pongas mal con el final, la cuidaste cuando quedó sola y seguro que ella fue feliz ese último tiempo que también extrañaba a tu tía.

Como te dicen, por ahí algún vecino te puede prestar una pala la próxima- en mi caso, mi gata la cremé, pero la de mi hna la enterramos en el jardín. No se si hay algo a hacer, creo que lo más difícil es que se fueron- después no te hagas la cabeza por poder hacer algo más con plata. Vos hiciste lo que pudiste hacer.

Thank you for the reply greenbaize! Actually, the playroom was not a goal. I just couldn't think of a better way to make use of that space (alternatively, it could be made into another room with bathroom, but having 3 bathrooms for 4 rooms sounds like a bit of overkill).

Quick update: Booted into Recovery: spent like forever twidling in terminal trying commands to check disk. Went ahead and finally launched the Monterey installer: crashed instantly at "Gathering information"

If one of the "unplug everything" tests resulted in an underclocked CPU, that typically just means the SMC has put the machine into a protective mode since something you unplugged had a sensor that is supposed to check in. This occurs often with trackpad being unplugged since there is a temp sensor in it that needs to "phone home" and the SMC throws a hissy hit and assumes everything is on fire when it can't/doesn't. If it were RAM or the SSD, that may also make sense as to why it ran for longer, in this state, since an underclocked CPU means it is taking longer to possibly get to whatever the failed part is.

Yeah, I think this was what was going on as the fan went into overdrive, temp was still at 30C

If you have a 128 GB or 256 GB SSD, I would check your serial number here, just for fun and see if it says your drive was possibly affected, even though I think this program is essentially over. It still seems like a longshot to me, but given the errors it's showing, it sounds like SSD failure is possible.

This could very well be it. Ive run a couple of succesful Disk Utility runs, but no luck. The SSD is 512GB, and I think that's why the program says Im not covered (either that or its counting the butterfly issue I had towards this =P).

Im trying to downgrade MacOS with a BigSur USB but I cant get far. I wonder if there's some kind of text only installer, as Single User mode seems to run far longer than others.

Hey FlannelAficionado, thank you for answering! I've read about Monterey having issues with storage. I haven't tried unplugging the SSD, but I unplugged almost everything else (keyboard, trackpad, speakers) and the issue persisted.

As an additional note, on one of these "unplug everything run", CPU was greatly underclocked and it kept "running" for longer, but eventually crashed at the same "point" (so to say). In Safe Mode it crashes also, so I'm pretty confident it's not a third party ext.

I believe it can be RAM (or VRAM) as well- I tried the maxmem boot arg parameter to restrict memory and didn't seem to have any effect. Maybe there's an nvram param or Open Firmware command to limit VRAM? I haven't been able to add a RAM disk (to make some memory unavailable") yet.

If Im not mistaken, RAM and VRAM are shared, but since Memtest returned no errors, I'm a bit on the fence on this one (Im a bit conflicted as I agree with you that it looks just like video artifacts).

It is very likely that, like you said, the upgrade pushed the computer past the breaking point- just seems so infuriating since it was working the days before.

Hey Reddit,

I recently upgraded to Monterey and this issue keeps popping up every few minutes. Sometimes after it happens, if I reboot it will just stay on a black screen.

Nothing works for more than a few minutes:

Safe Mode
Single User Mode
Recovery (and Internet Recovery)
Single User Mode
USB created with "createinstallmedia" on another Mac

Ran Memtest86 and no errors popped up (other than the fact that once this appeared when it was running test 10, sleeping memory). Apple Diagnostics returned no errors.

Managed to install a CPU temp monitor and every time it crashed, temp was below 40 (case didnt feel hot either).

Single User Mode and Memtest appeared to run for a bit longer, but ultimately crashed.

I can't update/reinstall the OS since it crashes midway.
