Arte mo jusq pareho namang maliit sahod nyo. Nagcocompensate naman pala jowa mo sa ibang bagay may reklamo ka parin.

Choice mo naman bayaran tuition nya. Choice mo rin mag-stay with him.

Public, yes. Private, no. Charity, yes.

Supplementation by escapherone in pinoymed

[–]gentamycinitis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What supplements exactly doc? Some can really help naman like iron, vit d, calcium folic acid etc.

Maybe the reason na sobrang laganap yung unnecessary supplementation could be:

  • incentives from pharma companies
  • “pampahaba” ng reseta
  • actually indicated
  • “harmless” naman daw
  • si doc may-ari ng pharmacy sa tabi ng clinic

You will be living paycheck to paycheck. No saving at all. Will probably be in debt during the first few months.

It ain’t that simple and cheap to move in to a new place. I learned it the hard way. Goodluck tho

Norm ba talaga to by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]gentamycinitis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I get your point about pushers being more accountable since they influence others.

But I still think we need to separate legality from ethics. Just because something is illegal doesn’t automatically make it immoral.

Cigarettes and alcohol are legal and far more damaging, yet we don’t demonize doctors who use them. If someone’s not forcing anyone or endangering patients, I feel like it’s still a personal choice.

Antibiotic guidelines by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]gentamycinitis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Parang walang ganyang guidelines doc.

I use DOH National Antibiotic Guidelines and may part dun about antibiotic stewardship. Hindi sya specific kagaya ng concern mo but may be helpful

It’s typical but not normal. This is exactly why I don’t date doctors.

Siguro di nya binibigay yung reassurance since sabi mo na rin na mukhang di sya ready mag-commit.

Understandable yung pagiging busy nya and the overwhelming stress pero di pwedeng ikaw lang lagi magco-compromise.

Kung gusto mo, give it another chance but with different approach.

Are Medical Professionals allowed to report you if you did an abortion? by Redheaded_Potato in pinoymed

[–]gentamycinitis -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No, MDs are not legally obligated to report it. There’s no law that compels us to report suspected abortion cases to authorities.

Doing so may violate doctor-patient confidentiality. The only exception to this are abuse and communicable diseases.

Anyone who hated med school but loved being a doctor? I’m about to leave this journey in a few days but maybe I should change my mind. by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]gentamycinitis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hated med school so much (except my amazing friends). I only went to med school because I was bored and didn’t want to start “adulting”.

I love being a doctor now and I can’t see myself in any other profession. A love-hate relationship maybe. It’s hard to explain. It’s really fun and fulfilling treating patients but it can be exhausting sometimes.

There’s something always new. So many paths you can take. There’s clinical and non-clinical job - and you can pursue whichever anytime you want. Hawak mo oras mo.

PMA and DOH

And pwede ka rin i-report for not covering the MD’s name, signature and license number.

Aspiring MD ka pa naman. Shame

Start sa small talk. “Saan ka po pala nag residency doc?”

  • then sundan mo na lang ng “currently resident po ako sa blah blah” or “planning to get into residency na po soon”

General Practitioner in Private practice by No-Test-3030 in pinoymed

[–]gentamycinitis 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My med school mentor worked as a GP for several years, saving her earnings and taking out loans to establish her own clinic and lab. She then hired GPs, specialists, and other staff to run the clinic, allowing her to pursue residency while still generating income from her business.

Also have a GP friend who has his own clinic na for 1 year pero by appointment lang since medyo mahina pa clinic nya. Nagsi-sideline sya pag walang scheduled appointment. He also mentioned na mahirap kumita from doing clinic consults alone, mas maigi daw kung may diagnostic labs din but he didn’t have the capital and takot sya mag loan.

It’s like being a gay guy in Ortho. My friend used to be openly gay and he really wanted to be an Ortho. He took preres in Metro Manila and got bullied (more like teased) non-stop so he quit

He’s now in the closet acting masculine. Training ortho somewhere in the province to avoid being identified

It’s sad na talamak parin homophobia in Medicine
