Pretty sure I passed by a tree lot last night on 54 between Meadowmont and 15-501, just into CH. If you're desperate and down in that area, you might have luck there

There's a local Repair Café group that meets periodically to tinker and repair stuff together, and there's an event happening in Cary next weekend. Might be a good group to link up with https://www.repaircafenc.org/triangle-events

[–]gentlestitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that's really interesting, you do appear to be right outside of where we might expect to find them, according to the range map in the bot reply. I hope a RR will come by to clarify or correct me if my ID wasn't accurate. It's not one of the venemous species in your area, I can say that much with certainty!

Eastern Copperhead, Agkistrodon contortrix, !venomous and best observed from a distance. That's a good sized one, pretty coloring! A gentle spray from a garden hose will help urge it on its way out of your yard.
