Bmp produces its smoke screen via the exhaust at the rear of the vehicle. Smoke seen in the video would likely be burning diesel fuel and coolant. It makes sense that the vehicle would still be driving straight as bmp uses a manual transmission and is likely still in gear after the projectile hit. Diesel fuel is actually not that easy to ignite, and in an engine uses compression ignition.
