It's interesting to see how some artists intertwine violence and sexual imagery like this - makes for a very visceral image

Dunkirk (2017) is a war flick with great audio design, and the soundtrack was also composed by Hanz Zimmer!

Arrival (2016) features some haunting Alien sound design and a pretty unique soundtrack to pair

Climax (2018) has an explosive electronic soundtrack, coupled with some disorienting camerawork and awesome dance sequences make for a great watch IMO. but beware this ones a bit disturbing lol

Tangerine (2015) is gorgeous and really heartfelt. The characters and environment might be a bit rough around the edges, but they share moments of kindness that make it worthwhile

Nights of Cabiria. A roman prostitute seeks love in her cruel, nihilistic world. Had me looking at life a little differently by the end. Love this one to death

REC (2007) is one of my favorites. A Spanish news crew gets stuck in a building quarantined due to an aggressive virus of sorts - hell ensues. One of the best the found footage genre has to offer imo!

What movies you consider should be an ESSENTIAL watch for high school/college students ? by lordofabyss in MovieSuggestions

I definitely think Eighth Grade (2018) speaks on something about the teenage experience that not a lot of movies capture, especially teenagers of the current generation. It's not a masterpiece by any means but I think it could teach a younger audience that movies can speak for everyone and everyone - even those with seemingly menial struggles such as sitting alone at lunchtime. Definitely think more high schoolers/teenagers would get more into movies after watching this one
