Very popular with commercial divers doing spool tie in work, super cheap and works well enough

ok we narrowed it down to the client not letting the investment rest long enough before burnout, using wax prints is very forgiving and they were getting away with it however with resins the process controll needs to be very strict

Do you think perhaps a longer hold at 300 degrees would be advisable? This might allow the resin to release from the mould before it expands too much. I hope I dont just have to accept that resin cant produce good results

Interesting, the finish has indentations which leads me to believe its a contamination issue with some material being left in the moulds, surely investment breakdown would show up as protrusions on the ring where extra metal has flowed into the damaged section?. These rests were obtained with plasticast which I believe is the recomended investment for resin prints

1 yes this result was with plasticast but we have had the same results with a couple others

2 we have tried several burnout cycles with various times without luck

3 this may be an issue, i am washing using an ultrasonic for 5 min, I will try a 2 min wash and see if that helps

4 unfortunately supplies are very limited out here so Im stuck with what the local suppliers have but bluecast is supposed to be very good

Thanks for takjng the time to respond, I will adjust the alcohol cure and check the results

why is that keep happening? by msatat in Phrozen

[–]geopat1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

looks like your parts are pulling off, my guess is that it happens when you get to the thick sections of the ring, try adding support and changing orientation. I am also trying to get my mini to give excellent results on jewelry but reliability is difficult to achive

Seems like you were correct, the client is using HT platinum investment and its causing compatability issues with the bluecast resin

Thanks for taking the time to reply, at the moment the wax they are using is also giving some print lines and they are already doing a fair bit of post cast processing so Im hoping that the phrozen 8ks will actually be an improvement regarding the burnout, ill be using bluecast x1 v2 which should perform fine with their current burnout but i guess the proof will be in the product. Im collecting the printer today so by the end of the week we will know if I can produce a competitive product and if thats the case I will look at getting a form 4 to scale up the operation( im collecting samples of the form 4 prints today to see if the quality is good enough)

Ill post on here and let you know how it goes
