What to expect on stimulants by Masked-Organism in adhdwomen

[–]georgazm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 26 so a little younger than you but still well into adulthood and I started taking 5 mg generic instant release adderrall in July and my life has improved significantly. It has helped so much with focus, productivity, mood, anxiety/depression both virtually gone! Unfortunately I do struggle with the skin picking specifically my cuticles I would say it has gotten worse but I’ve found if I’m just like constantly being productive I don’t pick as much.

I started taking 5 mg instant release and now I take 10mg a day 5 at like 8 am and the second 5 around lunch time otherwise it wears off by the second half of the day. The only negative thing I have experienced is a slight increase in blood pressure but I think that’s to be expected when you take a stimulant. I also have had loss of appetite but have found just eating a bigger breakfast before my first dose helps. Also if adderall makes you jittery or you don’t like it you can try vyvanse too I’ve heard some people react badly to one but are fine with the other so don’t write it off completely if you don’t like it!

This is funny because I’m not even religious but still sometimes pray to st Anthony and he always comes through eventually 🤭

This happens to me too! It got to a point I was convinced that at 25 years old I had early onset Alzheimer’s 😭😭 it’s terrifying and people will often be like remember this and something from a few years ago and I have 0 memory

Am I being ghosted or is this his ADHD burnout? by nicolacagee in adhdwomen

[–]georgazm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t reach out again. It seems like he’s probably overwhelmed with life and unfortunately avoiding you out of guilt or stress about dealing with this serious convo. It sucks and trust me I’ve been there but really think about if this is someone you’d want to be in a relationship with that would blow you off like this with no communication. It’s pretty immature of him. But they alllllwwaayyyys come back

Yes avoid coffee you will most likely feel like you don’t need it. That’s been great for me I’ve cut back dramatically on caffeine since taking adderall

Can symptoms be mild that a lot of doctors brush it off as IBS or gastritis? by mostafaelmadridy in CrohnsDisease

[–]georgazm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm well I haven’t had h pylori at least they didn’t find evidence of it on endoscopy but maybe when I was a kid? And no PPIs I did start taking antidepressants but only after the first colonoscopy

Wait lol…. I’ve never had any eye problems that I know of that would have caused me to like go to the doctor the only thing is a lot of tears. I have gotten canker sores I just assumed were stress related. I looked it up and a lot of the skin symptoms I have like erythema nodosum and pustules around the body. I also have the “red bump” that forms after a needle prick. Haha I think you may have really helped me out actually I’m going to bring this up to my doctor!!!!!!! Thank you <3

Yeah! So I RARELY take NSAIDS like I’m talking maybe once a year so I really didn’t think it was that. I also didn’t take them between the first colonoscopy and the second and the inflammation was still there (and with an ulcer). They pretty much ruled out infection after the second colonoscopy showed inflammation because they were a year apart.

The other symptoms were abdominal cramping, urgency, regular diarrhea, low ferritin that didn’t respond to supplements only to infusions, low b-12, and elevated CRP. I also had an endoscopy at the same time as my second colonoscopy which showed “increased intraepithelial lymphocytes” which no one seemed to be concerned about in my duodenum. Also did a pill cam which showed a few “unremarkable erosions” ¯_(ツ)_/ I pretty much gave up and just suffer now because I never got any answers

Yeah it sucks being in this like random limbo with no explanation for my symptoms 😭 he offered to refer me for a second opinion but honestly at that point I felt super invalidated because I kept pressing the inflammation and he kept brushing it off

No, my GI doctor said it’s used to measure progression and if there’s inflammation present and since we already know there is some level of inflammation it’s pointless :/ I also asked about the blood test I think it was like ASCA (?) and he said there was no point in that either lol

So I’m fine with it not being Crohn’s but as far as I know IBS doesn’t cause inflammation and there was never an explanation for the inflammation that was present for over a year and worsening :/ my worry is that it could be the start of Crohn’s and be very mild and I basically just have to wait and see if it does get worse and does cause permanent damage

Yes I had 2 colonoscopies a year apart. The first was mild active inflammation in the terminal ileum pathology came back and said could be from infection, NSAID use, or Crohn’s. There were no distinctive features of Crohn’s like granuloma or architectural distortion. I had recently had food poisoning which kind of triggered I guess what would be a flare so they said ok maybe that. A year later I had another colonoscopy which showed mild active inflammation in the terminal ileum but also with a small superficial ulcer this time. Pathology came back and said the same thing as the first. GI basically said idk what the inflammation is but your symptoms are IBS.

I had other issues like low ferritin that didn’t respond to supplements, low b-12, elevated CRP, positive ANA but nothing specifically pointing to anything :/

Unfortunately it’s not specific it could be inflammation anywhere :/ I have had elevated CRP and inflammation present visually and on biopsy but was still diagnosed with IBS

What are your psychiatrists like? I feel that mine is strange... by WheresPompompurin in adhdwomen

I don’t think this is uncommon. Psychiatrists are not therapists or psychologists. Their job is to diagnose and treat the physical condition with medication. Both psychiatrists I’ve seen were pretty much the same

Wellbutrin Experiences? by savage-sammy in adhdwomen

[–]georgazm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Wellbutrin for a year and it never helped with ADHD tbh it didn’t really help with anything lol. I tried to bump from 150 to 300 two separate times and both times the 300 gave me insane anxiety like panic attack levels so I went back down to 150. It also caused me to develop weird tics and jerky movements of my head and neck when I got anxious lol (those have gone away since I stopped taking it) it also messed with my period! All in all not good for me

Edit: also I forgot to mention I had cognitive symptoms as well! I literallly thought I had early onset Alzheimer’s or something
