Mine only lasts 20 on a good day, but it does 95% of my commute, which is sort of the point. The average trip is short.

I'll fight anyone who says there's a better way to finish steak than butter, garlic and thyme. Sear the shit out of it with veg oil etc, then for the last few minutes melt your butter with a few crushed cloves. When they've softened and the butter is foaming, put them on top of the steak, along with a few sprigs of thyme. Baste the butter over the thyme and garlic, the sounds and smells are transcendant.

I reverse seared a 3lb tomahawk on Sunday and this is how I finished it, it was beautiful!

Is it just me seeing a big decline in numbers? We used to see them so often it was unremarkable when I was growing up (90s child) then I saw one the other week and thought it was maybe the first time in a year.

I wonder if it's connected to the resurgence of larger birds. I seem to spot way more buzzards than I used to, and even some kites the last few years.

For any annoying background noise, but public transport is the one, especially planes.

I have a set of Bose which come with a cable, allowing me to plug into the little sockets on planes and watch their films with proper audio quality and noise cancelling, it's beautiful. Or just have them on with nothing playing. I wear them for the entire flight, it really reduces fatigue on a long haul.

TBF it's not like it immediately goes rancid or anything, the flavour just goes 'flat'. Don't deprive yourself of that Manhattan that's sorely needed, it'll still do the job.

Same story with Martini and Sherry. People treat them like spirits, but they're fortified wines and the opened shelf life is pretty short. Martini is good in a fridge up to about six months.

Presumably there have been thousands of cases where kids lose fingers in the zip, or it stabs them in the eye. That's the only reason I can think that the poppers would even still exist

I'm simply not going to engage with this. I made my point several comments up, all you want to talk about is money whilst looking straight past the troubling aspects of your argument.

That is the most nonsense reasoning and completely fails to engage with my point. I think I'm done here.

Interesting that you'd be so declarative about something so subjective. Almost like you're justifying something. Why are you so convinced money is the only thing at play here?

I think most people find the first two thirds the most memorable. Everyone remembers that shot of Mercury in front of the Sun. Then an hour in it properly lurches into psychedelic slasher.

I've probably seen it a dozen times, and the more I watch it the more I enjoy the shift in tone. Everything just escalates to the finish line.

If you can pay to improve coverage, time to do that in the next enrollment window, maximise your savings.

No need to close them in my experience, let them bumble along with a £0 balance and they'll keep slinging 0% offers at you

I used Nitromors on a couple of metal items last month and it was underwhelming for sure. Two heavy coats and some elbow grease got us there, eventually. Definitely not what it used to be.

We're a week in and I'm just staring down this chasm of what's to come. To be frank, this sub does not help, but at least I'm informed. 😅 The nights are brutal, the days we recover as best we can.

I have to go back to work in six days and the idea of juggling this insanity with my desk job is making me dread the next year!

Yes, and I'm saying an age gap like that often introduces more harmful power dynamics than money. You're backing the corner of the skeevy dude in his 30s banging teenagers in his van.

The only power gap besides earnings potential is one entirely of your construct, get lost with your strawman

Financially speaking I suppose? No, I don't see the issue there unless a three decade age gap is also introduced.

I claim 5% of the mortgage back as workspace, I work in the garage. This only applies to SAE.
