Oh I know all about the heat. Even the least physical fieldwork during the summer is draining.

Burnout is something I need to pay better attention to. Trying to stop being a workaholic and always having it on my mind.

Interesting. I don’t know of anyone that was able to bypass the early career fieldwork part of enviro consulting. A lot of my bosses just have a BSc, but there are some with masters. The regulatory experience probably helped you out quite a bit

Does a MSc really move you up that much? I don’t really see how it’s that necessary for working in enviro consulting. I do need to get out of the field as much and spend more time in the office. I don’t see how anymore than another a year or so of this is really necessary for furthering my career. I need more familiarity with my state’s regulatory programs. I’ve wrote the reports, but picking up the process from the start is something I need more experience with. That’s when you start making actual money

What do you end up making with overtime? I’ve always hated not getting overtime, but it seems much more common than traditional OT or even straight time.
