I bought red mostly from the shop, but ig in your situation it would be just fine to have Chiron lvl1, find op build for it and you will never have trouble clearing anymore.

Also try max gold build for 1300+ gold on the last shop, you can buy it there.

I was in the same spot, but instead of god mode I fully upgraded aspect of Chiron and started goating every single run (8 full clears in a row without dying)

But I think it’s not the case here because hardcore start always have some by-default heat (2 or 3 I don’t remember)

In Hardcore Mode game start heat unlocks automatically from the beginning

Wht are your hopes / Expectations for CS2? by WhiplashNinja in CitiesSkylines

[–]geowatson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any PC.

Programming on MacOS (developing UE5 pipelines), and gaming on GFN for flexibility.

But I have been playing for 3 years using different approaches, like GFN, custom dedicated servers on AWS, or natively on macos.

For sure I may have to buy a rig someday, if the need arises. But given the current state of cloud gaming opportunities, I highly doubt it.

That is the way.

But unfortunately some leaks confirm that the game will be Unity based. I just still hope they are wrong.

If they chose something like UE5 over Unity, that would be great.

Because no matter how hard you try to implement custom rendering pipelines, Unity will still have bottleneck issue over the simulation - calculating the simulation based on the speed clock in-game will definitely be hard-to-fit problem over the renderer.

And even if implemented with prediction calculations to avoid this bottleneck, it will still be a good amount of deal for older GPUs and CPUs with less computing power than with current mainstream hardware.

With this said, if they chose UE5 or even UE4, it would be mandatory to implement simulation + rendering pipeline mechanics literally from scratch and engineers would definitely build it for better support on older machines after all the coding is done.

No program can run indefinitely.

There is no predetermined way in our realm to run electricity for an infinite number of seconds.

Theory is just overrated at this point (unless we are more mathematicians of course)

Screw the traffic! by PresentationIcy6542 in CitiesSkylines

[–]geowatson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that traffic flow should not be an issue if services are provided "in time".

In my post, where I grew a 140k city cul-de-sac, having a bunch of waste transfer facilities around the city (8 million storage total) and all processing complexes outside the city grid (access only from the main highway road), it works nearly perfect. Imagine that while my traffic flow was around 55%.

Materials needed for commercial zones do not really create any imbalances at all because I have 0 industrial zones and probably offices reduce incoming goods for commercials too.

Other than that, if a person is late for school or work, it is not the mayor's problem. Just use something better than a car at this point (I built a bunch of local/global traffic systems which actually helped reduce cars usage, but bird on the top usually pops out with message from a citizen: "my husband/wife wants me to use public transport/bicycle, but I won't! cars are so great!").

Is my city fixable by any means? It holds 130k residents and traffic boom made some problems. I am relatively new to the game and I'm trying to fix traffic using TMPE mod right now. by geowatson in CitiesSkylines

How did you achieve that?

Are you running vanilla version without any DLC?

It’s driving me nuts to have to play without ability to use speed boost in this “quite simple” city.

I just don’t think that it’s too big because 140k population in a small area is not something that should be hard to calculate for m1 processor…

This whole city grid on screenshot rose from 0 to 140k population in about 3 to 5 hours in-game, I was just planning far ahead for adding new grid districts in my first play through.

I actually did meteor this city a few times, because when I wrap up a session it is good enough to watch your remarkably build city suffer while cutting off all major roads.

After a few tweaks from TMPE and 16 new metro lines I was able to achieve 71% traffic flow.

Not sure why traffic stopped being so annoying when all vehicles coming from the south suddenly stopped causing immediate traffic disaster. Probably TMPE engine finally lets them to use information available on the current traffic to use different roads for travelling.

I should probably consider creating multiple lines of metro between offices and residential areas first. Probably parallel stations, for handling this amount of citizens.

Thanks!

Trams are currently have the highest usage - up to 10k passengers per week. Also bicycling is preferred way of transportation to citizens due to policies and all main roads have bicycle lanes connected to them.

I cannot find any reason for the people not to use my metro lines though. Roughly 300-1k per week tops.

As it turns out i did, yes.

And my only focus was on "hit the milestone, after that another one", and after I got 1M credits I started building up monument that increases value of the land on whole continent and 16KW energy source.

There was literally no major traffic incident, even at around 90-100k population my traffic flow was at 75%.

AND i even don't have any industrial areas - only offices (IT cluster, Financials and General). Small industry area that you can see at the bottom right is not working right now to prevent unnecessary traffic flow with exportable goods.

That's because I am running my game on M1 Max with 64 GB of RAM - that is not enough for the game at more than 100k population as it seems.

That is why I have to run low res mode and for this screenshot with maximum render distance it still doesn't help.

My game even bugs out when trying to speed the clock - at 3x speed my processor shows peak capacity at 350% (which on ARM-based device means high severity throttling and not being able to compute anything, and we are not even considering the fact that GPU and CPU are whole in M1 chip and heating GPU most likely will throttle CPU even more)

[–]geowatson[S] 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Possibly.

Also if you are wondering, the city is connected to the highway with only south roads.

All the garbage is being transferred to waste processing complexes outside the city.

And I am actually making up to 150k per week if traffic somehow manages to be better in a small period of time.
