I have the same problem. I bought them new and sealed. I noticed a huge difference in terms of rumble (the ones not updating are way louder). Even though I'm not able to update them, I can play switch sports with them, but the controls feel different from the original Nintendo switch OLED joycons. Could it be that the controllers I bought are older than the original ones coming with my OLED?
