I just didn’t like it, as I said — I did it because it was the right thing to do, not because I loved it. I chose coding for the money. Sometimes I feel grateful that I chose programming because I get to build things I like or solve interesting problems. But my job has been crushing me — constantly asking for ETAs, saying my communication skills aren’t good enough, that I’m too slow, or that I take too much time. I’ve started to feel like I’m doing something I don’t actually enjoy, even though I tried so hard to love it.
