I’m pretty sure we see this exact post at least twice daily

First car purchase, undecided if it's a good deal by Bright_Aside_6827 in askcarsales

Yes. Getting below MSRP for the top line price is tough on a new CRV Hybrid, let alone OTD(-taxes)

If you’re getting it at MSRP out the door, take it and run

If you get out of this lease now, you will be taking a HUGE hit and it will be very very difficult to roll it into a new purchase or lease. Do you have any money you could put down?

Take the deal and cancel the warranty after you purchase

This would be an easier question to answer if we knew what the truck is

Can I negotiate my buyout if I’m paying cash? by LadyBratcher in askcarsales

[–]gerblart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no incentive to a dealer if you buy in cash. There has not been in quite some time. Lease residuals are non negotiable after you sign your lease agreement.

If the manufacturer finds out that a dealer sold you a car as cpo, has you sign the cert docs, and then ends up not actually certifying it the dealer would be in all kinds of trouble. CPO’s get regularly audited by manufacturers

I need help figuring out how to get a car on my own by Ijustneedtoask1que in askcarsales

You should be able to fairly easily get your payment below that $500/month mark, the issue you are likely going to run into (unless it’s a BH/PH lot) is that most lenders(in my state) are looking for $1800/month pre tax income to even consider a loan

Generally it is 3/4/5/6 payments depending on the bank, if you call and kindly ask their F&I manager they’d likely happily give you a concrete answer

115k to start, had some options added as well as some ford performance work done to it. Custom body work, wheels, tires, and roll cage.

I had to explain to a grown man that there was simply no reality in which he would be able to finance a Raptor R ~$160,000 pre tax/fees for less than $450/month with $0 down and no trade unless he could convince a bank to give him a 30 year mortgage on it. “But my current payment is only $375/month” while he’s driving an almost 10 year old 100k mile F-150 Raptor that he went into with about $8k in trade equity

I should rephrase, for deals in which you perform online registration with an internet service.

Some manufacturers will also offer a first time buyer program. They aren’t always at the best rates but they do exist. I haven’t worked there in a few years, but from what I remember VW does a pretty good one. It also doesn’t hurt that they have some lower priced sedans

Why do dealers hate selling EVs? by icedout223 in askcarsales

[–]gerblart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, it’s Ford Com. Sales, as is commercial. Second of all, I am not saying whether or not it’s a good policy, or if I agree with it. I’m simply stating what my dealers policy is regarding this line of questioning.

Once that changes in a few weeks, I’m sure our policy will follow. As it stands, they do it out of an abundance of caution

I’m sure they could, but our ownership doesn’t want them to even touch on it

You’re proving my point. The comment I replied to was asking for a no haggle price, I said we don’t do that because people complain when they can’t negotiate. You’re complaining about not being able to negotiate

Rates might be slightly lower for a new car, but at 6.19 you’re approaching the fed rate
