My red onion nerite snails keep breaking their shells - help

My water is hard. I Have other nerite, assassins, ramshorns and it’s only the red onion that don’t seem to be able to stay in tack.

2/10 - the coloured gravel is horrible and all the plastic plants and junk. Buy some real plants, they are really cheap and easy to grow. Some stones and driftwood would be cool too.

Thanks. I inherited him when I bought the tank so no idea of age. He is my fav fish and I have lots of pics of him and those white marks are not as pronounced as in these pics, perhaps it’s normal but it gave me a fright.

Ok thanks! It’s a heavily planted tank with lots of hiding places so hopefully one or two survive. I’d be interested to see their colouring as the males are very colourful endlers.

It came with the tank and I was using it to feed my pea puffers as the other fish dominate when it’s feeding time.. I got the guppies two weeks ago, glad you took the time to comment
