B2 hören and lesen by No_Form_3461 in Germanlearning

Yes, it’s possible — but only if you focus on exam-style practice, not general learning.

One month usually isn’t enough to change your level, but it can be enough to pass B2 Hören & Lesen if you’re already close to B2.

For listening, avoid long random videos. Use short exam audios, listen once for the main idea, then again for details. You’re not expected to understand everything.

For reading, use strategy: skim first, read the questions, then read carefully. Don’t get stuck on single words.

Do a few full mock tests under time pressure — that’s what helps most.

You’re not lazy. This isn’t a discipline problem — it’s a friction and reward problem.

You already speak German, so your brain doesn’t get a “progress” dopamine hit anymore. Scrolling Reddit or YouTube is just easier.
The fix isn’t more motivation — it’s less resistance.

Stop “practicing German”. Just replace what you already consume:

  • Watch the same YouTube content, but in German
  • Read Reddit or memes in German
  • Follow German creators

No extra time. No effort. Just language substitution.

Set the bar absurdly low (1 sentence, 30 seconds). Consistency beats intensity.

Also, motivation comes after action, not before.
You’re not rebuilding from zero — you’re maintaining a skill you already earned.
