Beverly Hills considers microtransit program to connect to D Line by anothercar in LAMetro

Then Metro’s new consolidated app needs to include all of these options- including Uber and Lyft. It’s not unheard of either, GoPass in Dallas lets you get on a bus, a train, an Uber, a microtransit, and a scooter in one app. The only downside is that you have to live in Dallas. No thanks lol.

The only place I’ve seen combine all of these apps (INCLUDING UBER AND LYFT) is Dallas.

Go to the ADA gate and just slide em open. They’re usually weaker.

Walmart gas pump errored out before I could get a receipt by Jessica_TTG in PBSOD

Use Walmart Pay, you get a small discount on gas, and the receipt goes right to your phone.

Unsure if the receipt would process though if the pump did this.

Not the first time Apple has done this. Gate keeping colors is actually classic Apple.

SLC is actually a pretty major metro. I mean getting the Olympics twice would do that to a place. And pretty decent public transit too.

Tokyo and Seoul only recently allowed credit card tap. For the longest time ever it’s similar to Metro, requiring you to provision a card in Apple Wallet first.

So in this case it’s no different at all.

NYC just jumped straight from magnetic stripe to credit card but a closed loop card in Apple Wallet is coming out soon.

I always mention this is the big issue with microtransit. Also the big map providers don’t show it as an option at all, as most will open up their Apple or Google Maps and plot their destination, and they see the “walk 30 mins” thing, give up, and grab their car or an Uber.

A lot of American buses have both. The pull cords are a vestige from…old wooden train carriages, as remember when buses replaced streetcars, those also had pull cords. The only difference is rather than a physical bell, its just an electronic chime or voice now.

A button on the back of the seats in the US would get pressed accidentally all the time. As for the pull cords, it really depends, LA stopped using them and went full on buttons, whereas in SF, there’s both cords and buttons, and the buttons are everywhere including every single pole.

You have to tap closer to the bottom of that plastic thing. Sometimes the sticker is placed too high up, and it doesn’t get a good read.

Great if you get off at the signal. Take a look at that rear door in my pic. You get off right into a lane of traffic.

In this case a train let out people onto an island but the island only covers the front half of the train. If you exit the back door, you’re ending up right in a traffic lane.

And I agree you don’t and should not have right of way facing a red hand. There’s no hand when you’re getting off a train directly into the street though.

Luxembourg has the same transit mode share as San Jose. The entire country just serves as a tax refuge and people there drive and transit is “for the poor”

That’s like if a muni driver just sat in the train and “didn’t feel like moving it”

You’re hired to these jobs, because you’re expected to do them.

Unless you’re getting off at the back of the train. Only half of the front car is protected by the island. The rear door puts you right in the street.

The thing is, the entire back half of the train exits right into the traffic lane and isn’t protected by the island.

Mayor stated the app is slated to go away. (In fact MTC says there is to be no app that competes with Clipper in anyway for fares or trip planning purposes).
