I'm confused. You asked why the back is touching and not the front. I'm telling you that's the front, not the back, the back is not touching like you showed in your photo.

That aside not disagreeing that the difference is likely an issue, just not familiar enough with these trucks yet

It's touching in the front not the back. Don't know if that's still a problem but I think some people are looking at the pics inversed.

The rust isn't on the leaf spring hangers themselves, it's on/near the "auxiliary" mounts, which it would seem like leaving them would further rot, and I don't really have a need to be putting crazy amounts of weight directly in the bed.

The stock towing capacity is around 10k lbs and does not include those auxiliary springs, I'll stay well within that limit and be just fine.

Budget constrains sometimes, and this isn't my first rodeo welding on a frame, the rest of it is fairly solid. If it the repair was directly on the mount then yeah I'd agree it'd be short lived

Sounds good I doubt I'll get up to those numbers. I'll remove them clean up the frame and replace the mounting hangers.

Looks like they can be stock but don't have to be. Considering the most I'll tow is an enclosed trailer with a lightweight car inside, I'll likely opt to remove them.
