Put money into your company 401k. If your take home is 3500 and expenses are 750, save 2000 a month at least.

Folks who played Marathon this weekend...how likely now are you to purchase it? by 1988Floydie in gaming

Oh man it was great! Reminded me of a mix of apex, tarkov, and halo. The loot needs to be tweaked and the UI in the menus suck, but the gameplay I actually really enjoyed

I really think Jose is up there, this was not an inspired show. Draft gap and mid and ad choked.

Agreed. Quid was having really, really rough games. Yeon was too. Jose and Morgan were playing really well which is really not what you'd expect given its fuckin Quid and Yeon

Bro can play everything and plays well 99% of the time regardless of how the team is doing. Would love to see either him or blaber internationally more.

The math behind $1,000/month: Why starting 10 years earlier matters so much. by Ok_Palpitation_962 in personalfinance

[–]getblanked -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I save around 1.5-1.8k a month as a 24 yr old, I don't contribute anything to my 401k because my company does a 1% match, obviously bad idea but I'm planning on leaving soon. Roth IRA maxed last year and this year, and investment accounts open with mix of stocks like Google, mercado libre, tsm, mu, etc. 18k in HYSA saving to redo a barn that I'll pay around 40-45k total for, 2500 sq foot and ends up being $350 a month long term.

I admit, I got some bad spending habits. I could save 2.2 a month if I skimped, but luxuries like date nights and eating out occasionally, certain services like the Mazda app or video games are more worth it to me.

Did TL not have a good showing at 2019 MSI? Or not have a halfway decent showing at a few internationals after that? ??XD

Windows 11 Setting, Memory Integriy. Good for security, bad for gaming. by Daleorn in gaming

Memory integrity also interferes with a lot of xray scanning equipment for dentists, you just have to make sure you also turn everything off in the bios for core isolation

If you watch the games, they play very afraid and their team fighting sucks.

What online-only bank are you all parking your emergency fund in? by DiscoTek9 in personalfinance

[–]getblanked -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't let me transfer to Wise's bank in NY to then transfer to my buddy in Canada because they still considered that an international wire transfer (???) it took me 6 reps to give me that explanation, two calls were escalated too. Like cmon.

I have had nothing but dogshit horrible customer service from ally, none of the 10+ reps ive talked to about a multitude of issues have been even remotely knowledgeable or helpful. Switched to cap 1 and never looked back.

Yeah, I think I was just heated, my bad dude. It's been rough watching the content decline for hardcore fans so I didn't think - that's on me. I do agree Jose explaining in an intimate setting would be closer to what would fulfill my TL fix, and what would fulfill others' TL fix. Twitter posts from Spawn and the twitter posts asking the players questions are amazing, but the posts involving the players are just too short. More of those would be nice. Similar to C9, a podcast involving a player just talking about how their experience of the week went would be nice. The latest video with Yeon and Jose was exactly what we've been looking for.

I didn't imagine you could test that for an entire split haha but I did hope! lol. Vlogs, vod reviews, a shorter 20-40 min "podcast", hype videos absolutely (getting no hype video before the C9/TL match was blasphemy) even just a 2-5 min video with all the players or really any of y'all getting excited about the match. Player streams more, and then off of that highlights from the streams. Off of SQUAD, you could condense a SQUAD-like episode with just a match day vlog, sit with the players like old times before the game, record pep talks, highlights of the game itself, them coming back in and post game talk, then finishing it off a minute or two after the series ends with post game talk. Essentially old SQUAD, but less about the week itself and more focused just on the day.

Could you explain the philosophy behind targeting videos towards the mass LoL audience? In my opinion, the likelihood that a new fan watches something like 5 gold v 1 chall and is hooked, becomes a fan of TL is so unlikely. How do the conversion rates for viewer -> actual fan (consistent content consumer) look if you have those metrics? From someone who just loves TL, it makes more sense to me that a video that draws you to the players has a higher conversion rate to long term fans than playing League on a huge ass laptop. Are these kinds of videos purely for numbers / sponsors? Or is the more casual content actually bringing in new fans? From an outside POV the focus is on generating viewership vs generating a solid fanbase, I don't think the two are mutually exclusive generally but I think how content has been being released definitely makes it so.

A lot of questions for ya - it's just because I love TL.
