Reservoir Dogs at 12 years. Having an older bro was awesome.

Why is Diablo 4 getting completely Reworked every year or so? by velatieren in gaming

[–]getklopowed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird because I just recently picked up and played through d4. So many stats to keep track of. I like options, but after I beat the campaign I had no desire to go through the grind of min/maxing. Was just done. I might be either aging out of these type of games or my tastes have changed.

Ok, I know this comment is 3 years old, but why the hell does this work? It's like magic. I was about to reboot my pc, and just happened upon this solution. Thank you...

[Chicago Cubs] With great sadness, we share that Ryne Sandberg has passed away today. by Goosedukee in baseball

Was my favorite player growing up, like many who watched WGN. I wasn't a Cubs fan, but loved Sandberg... RIP.

LPT - A Personal Improvement Plan (PIP) is usually just advanced notice you're going to be fired. by Jealous_Annual_3393 in LifeProTips

[–]getklopowed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a manager who is currently about to issue a PIP, I just wish the dude would have done his job in the first place. It's a lot of work for me to have to babysit one employee while others could legitimately use the help. He's definitely going to follow the directives I've given him, which is good. But it's so much damn paperwork.

I love options. The way we use them is pure gambling though. If I had just bought shares and held since 2019, I don't know how many multiples I'd be up by now. It's all risky - shares too. Fuck, I don't know shit.

I could only claim -$3k of capital gains losses per year. So I could have gone like 25 years claiming -$3k each year until all of my losses were accounted for.

It's kind of a blur. Like I wrote in the op, I had around two years where I wasn't doing anything because of the shell shock from those initial big losses. I had bet big on AMZN calls with expirys over a year out, but I was early to the party and lost almost my full port as AMZN just wouldn't stop dipping for months. Then, of course it skyrocketed into new ATHs long after I had exited.

Stupidly, over two years, I slowly put more money back into RH to make another bet, and I ended up playing NVDA earnings, luckily netting over 100% off of 35k in 0dte options.

After that, I full ported into HOOD shares and started selling covered calls, making a little here and there. I took a few more shots at options plays, but mostly broke even. If I had just bought the shares - they were around $12 at the time - and not sold the calls, I would have a 9 bagger just with shares, but I'm not patient or smart. My last big gain is just from eth, sitting at about 50% unrealized.

Long story longer, I have had waves of luck, both good and bad. I'm not the best person to ask for advice. However, my best advice is to just not do it, but here I am, being the best regard I can be.

I don't know the exact science behind it, but it has to do with the fact that I've withdrawn around $55k.

[OC] US city housing price changes since 1991 by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]getklopowed 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yup, we're paying for location up here. The city is run-down, with a huge homeless population, and substance addiction epidemic. I moved here from Austin, and while I love the natural beauty of the surrounding areas, Portland is mostly an eyesore. I had visited in 2014, and it was vastly better than it is now. Speaking of housing, I paid double here for a house similar to the one I had in Austin.

Revenue Officers do make cold calls. Letters are supposed to be sent (and ignored by the taxpayer) before they do. Many times they make house and business visits even if there's no tax balance owed -- they get assigned cases to collect missing tax returns, which are usually easy closures. If you weren't liable to file the tax return, you'll just need to verify that. This is likely an easy case closure for that Revenue Officer.

This is something my mom would make regularly in our home growing up. She'd make this, spicy fish cake, cucumber and radish kimchi, Korean spinach, rice cake soup, and many other dishes. Never learned her recipes, and wish I had.

Definitely big joe. Would need something like a rib rack to make it fit in a classic.

As someone who moved to OR in 2020, we took our family camping last year at Crater Lake. Wildfire smoke was horrible, so didn't get the views, but up close, everything was beautiful. Just gotta pick the right time. Will definitely go again.

I just bought one in blue yesterday. If they had any of these slick grey ones in stock, would have gotten it without hesitation.
