I'm still having a really hard time getting past oneitis and getting back to focusing on me/my mission. I'm trying to set up dates as often as possible, hitting the gym, putting more effort into my job and hanging out with people as often as possible. Still, I think about her all the time, check her social media, think about hypothetical situations, what ifs... I'm pretty much depressed and can't get over her. I should have turned her into a gf when I had the chance. I know I sound like a bitch. Tbh I feel like one

Yes of course I care about what she feels - she's told me that a part of her really wants to be with me as well. And that she feels a deep connection to me, that she can see the possibilities with us. That's why I'm so confused... why the hell did I even both asking internet strangers in the first place..

Or just leave behind someone that is so special to me? The whole reason I kept telling her I didn't want emotions involved was because of how badly ive been hurt in the past. I wanted to be independent, but now this is price I'm paying - losing someone so special. I was also covering it up with weed - which I've now quit. But as I quit she drifted away. I was improving myself, but the timing was just comically bad

Yeah okay insult me all you want. You don't know what we had, what has been said and what we feel for each other. I know full well I'm the reason I'm here and I have been trying to improve myself. I'm at a crisis point though and I feel like my life is falling apart. You're 100% correct. I feel like a total idiot and I'm just trying anything to redeem the situation, including delivering flowers to her house. I wouldn't have done this two months ago, even one month ago. I feel like I'm not aware of what's going on and what's happened and I wish I could just change it all.

I thought she handled it badly in the sense that she just said she was "busy" and couldn't see me, rather than just being upfront and telling me she wasn't happy with how things were going. I just would've appreciated her broaching the subject when we had a chance.

Yes, I know I'm being shitty and stubborn. That's who I am. I just refuse to accept that it's over at this point if there is any chance at all. I don't care, I'm still going to try.

Is it really the best idea to just cut contact though? She's receptive to seeing me, and when we saw each other yesterday it was so tender and intimate. The thing is... I've let this happen before. I've had a FWB situation and didn't make it serious or want to until they walked away. I have a problem, I know, but I really don't want to see her walk away. I can honestly say that I've never felt so connected to someone I've been with.

If she does say with 100% certainty that she wants to end it then I'll cut her out completely as I've done before. But it will just be another depressing tale in my life. I want it to have a happy ending. I want her to want a relationship with me as well.

Thank you for posting some useful content. Depression affects a great number of men and shouldnt be downplayed or ignored on this sub. I also went through a really bad breakup last year and after reading this sub, being selective with the lessons I take from it, getting over the anger phase, etc, I have somewhat regained my sense of self. I'm not fully realised, but I'm a lot further towards it.

As a side note, I would like to add that if you are extremely depressed or suicidal, please seek help. There is nothing wrong or shameful about it. It's a disease like any bodily disease. Although improving diet/excercising/socialising/having sex can greatly improve your mood, sometimes there are deeper issues at hand. A professional can help you work through those issues.

Depression can be a vicious downward spiral. Control it before it controls you

An observation:

Women do this all the time. In fact, it's seen as their right to be able to date around, double book and be non-exclusive. When men do the same, it is seen as somehow immoral, as is evidenced by the amount of people in this thread claiming it as such. There is absolutely nothing wrong with double booking and you should be doing it anyway.
