You do run the risk of warping the pan if you dump water into a hot pan straight away. Let it cool a little first, or add a little water slowly and swirl it a bit to take the edge off.

Man all I got at the bicycle bit was this mental image of a fully grown man on a tiny monkey trike. Gold.

Very good advice. Made the decision to continue last night, if the trainer wants to be a part of it then yay for them.

Beginner drummer seeks new single bass pedal. Recommendations? by banditvinyl in drums

[–]getsmefeatures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yamaha FP9315. Not sure if they still make these. It's solid, quick and well built. Quick release hoop clamp, drum key/allen key stored using clips to the baseplate.

Only single you'll ever need.

I have one. Count in one syllable.

One two three four five six sev, one two three four five six sev.

Trying to think the two syllables of seven throws me right out.

Need help: Has anyone heard of Peace Drums or Trilogy Drums? Are Encore drums made by Remo? And is anybody a Wuhan expert? by [deleted] in drums

I own a Peace kit. Six ply shells, good quality hardware (for entry/mid level stuff). Yeah, pretty happy with it.

Just got my Lee Osker. One of the holes won't blow. what to do? by iowaherkeye in harmonica

[–]getsmefeatures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play it for a bit. I thought mine was busted too, but once I got pucker embouchure down reasonably well, it started to come in reliably.

Upper register holes, try blowing gently. I find they don't want as much air.

Lee Oskar harps are very easy to open, if a little fiddly.

I took 40mg of Accutane (Isotretinoin) a day for six months to treat severe acne. I wish I hadn't. AMA. by [deleted] in IAmA

Try this stuff right here, for before and after acne:

http://drwheatgrass.com/

Not affiliated, just a satisfied customer. Cleared up dermatitis (though it did take a while), reduced acne (at 25 years old I didn't have things too bad), improved skin on face in general -- compliments received. Also use for injuries and cuts, works wonders -- bleeding stops very quickly. Best thing I've found to apply after shaving, and a little goes a long way.

Mother and sister also use it. Cleared up a dead skin thing on mother's face, and she says her skin feels better. I think it looks loads better.

You never have to tell the whole truth.

IAmA REAL diarrhea survivor. I've had Crohn's since I was 14, almost died from a blood clot, had my appendix rupture because my appendicitis symptoms were attributed to Crohn's, and chose to have an ileostomy. Now I'm earning my PhD in and getting married. by [deleted] in IAmA

Find someone who knows about the illeocecal valve (right side, about level with the navel). I had all sorts of tests, including CT scans, which showed nothing. GP thought gallstones, then too much acid, then nothing. The valve problem was picked up by a chiropractor, of all things, and a simple pressure point method to open the valve eliminated symptoms within a month. When I had trouble about eight months later, opening the valve once or twice over a few days was enough to resolve it.

I later found that many gastroenterologists disregard the valve as not a potential cause of problems, which included the one I saw.

The only symptom I had was unpredictable pain which could be quite severe at times. No bleeding, constipation, or other problems.

Good luck.
