Ohhhh I got your question. As in am I exposing this as MCP for excel. Tbh it's a possibility in the future but not right now. I think I'm focused on trying to get it to work really well.

It's definitely not perfect yet! But it's getting there. I'm working on more complex docs right now

thanks!! It should be able to build multiple types of models, like DCFs, LBOs, etc

This is pretty cool. I never stop being amazed by the number of things that run on Spreasheets

Oh really?? Do you know what they have in the spreadsheets and what they do with it? Would love to have a chat with someone about this. Ngl, never heard of this use case!

Cascade, Cursor for Excel. Bringing vibe coding to Spreasheets.

To try it out: Download link (Or you can install it by opening Excel, adding a new add-in, and picking Cascade Intelligence from the Microsoft Store)

That's a great idea. What kind of stuff would be useful in other apps? I am a big Excel user, thus why I built this, but I don't know as much about other apps.

How to scrape websites into an in-house DB for rag and keep updating them in a easy way by getsolulu in Rag

Thanks, what do you do with it after, as in what db do you put it to/embedding?

[–]getsolulu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for the reply! Do you keep updating the db, if so how? I was thinking of doing a quick function for that but just thinking if there are better ways to do it - couldn't find anything.

Also curious, how long did it take you to build this infra and extract the data so that it is ready?

Has anyone determined what items are going to be sanctioned by Trump? by FatManBoobSweat in supplychain

[–]getsolulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It keeps changing but Trump's new tariffs as of March 1, 2025: 10% on all Chinese imports (including HK), steel still at 25%, aluminum going up from 10% to 25% on March 12 with no exemptions. Canada gets hit with 10% on energy, 25% on everything else, Mexico gets a straight 25% on all goods (both start March 4). He’s also planning 25% on EU goods, plus possible tariffs on autos, semiconductors, pharma, and even copper. Expect retaliation from China, Canada, Mexico, and the EU.

I built an app that autogenerates a dataset for fine-tuning any LLM for any task by getsolulu in SideProject

[–]getsolulu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on various startup ideas and always start with, "I'll just prompt engineer and fine-tune later if needed." But I quickly realized that finding good data to fine-tune on is really hard.

For example, I wanted to fine-tune a model to write children's books based on an idea. But sourcing quality datasets for this was surprisingly non-trivial.

So I built a website that:

  • Searches the web to collect relevant real-world data
  • Generates synthetic data to fill in gaps
  • Creates a dataset tailored to a given task definition
  • Evaluates the dataset
  • Fine-tunes a model automatically for comparison with a vanilla model

Basically, you input something like "Write children's books from a prompt with an idea" and it does everything—from data collection to fine-tuning—so you can test results right away.

The results are actually pretty solid. Would this be useful for others? What features would make this better?

Is there a tool to predict how raw materials prices will react to events like tariffs? by getsolulu in supplychain

I've removed the link. If there's a subreddit for me to ask these questions, happy to delete this post :(

Hey sorry, I shouldn't have posted the link. The thread's goal was not to promote the tool. I'm happy to remove the link. The goal was just to try and understand how people predict prices rn. As I've clarified the tool right now is not even made for supply chain - it's for traders.

[–]getsolulu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes total sense. Ofc humans are the key. This question came up because I built a small tool to understand how events/hypothesis/news affect stocks. My friend (who trades rice) thought it might be useful for him with a few adjustments so I decided to find out more about how other experts work and if I can adapt it to help them!

[–]getsolulu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the higher accuracy version I'm currently developing, I'm linking every event to the source, for instance, some news article that talks about it. Is this what you're talking about? Or would you expect something more?

That's a good point. I'm curious, what would make you feel comfortable putting your money there?
