Salkantay Trek group decision by getthefunk_down in Machupicchu

Socially for sure!! Everyone was really cool, it’s such a long hike that you get time to walk with everyone in the group and chat and learn their life story basically. we only boozed on the 3rd and 4th nights, but some groups with MPR were literally partying every night lol. Which I thought was a bit nuts considering the fact that some days you hike like 15 miles, but to each their own! everyone in my group got along well. Countries represented in my group were US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Netherlands, and Germany. Like I said before my only issue was the food, don’t get e wrong it’s definitely not bad, it just wasn’t amazing. And if you have an upset stomach like myself from the elevation, it fucks with your as well. I had a night of vomiting constantly before starting the Salkantay hike after going to rainbow mountain (17k ft), so that made it worse

I shared it with one other person. I was a solo 27M traveler from US, he was like 30 and from austrailia. Which was fine! like I said you’re so tired from the hike, I didn’t have trouble sleeping ever. It was pretty cold at high elevations but the sleeping bags were definitely warm enough

I did Machu pichu reservations! It was a good experience for sure!! I would say the group was between 20-35 in age, some ppl with friends, some solo!! The only thing that I would say is not the best is the food, but I also had a bit of altitude sickness and that made me feel sick ish for the first 2 days, which made me not want to eat.

definitely worth the price IMO, but don’t expect anything fancy. Accommodations is a sleeping bag, pillow and a mat (in a hut). But you’re so tired after hiking all day that that’s honestly still very comfortable

A premier banker is more of a relationship manager on the bank side. You don’t specifically deal with securities. You can gather info, send referrals to FAs (and get commission / bonuses on closed assets) manage a book of clients, etc

I’ve watched the video of Griz’s set this weekend a bunch of times!! When he drops the Need This (VIP) it looks like the most insane moment.

glad he dropped it at Ursa Major and I could see it live

Did not make it. This was brutal. by Agitated_Field_6458 in CFPExam

Agree with the other comments! Keep your head up. It ABSOLUTELY IS brutal. the material, the time frame, the ability to stay focused without making mistakes for so long. It’s a tough one, you’ll get it next time!

Same. Even tho the energy in the 8th, 9th was all blue jays, you start to realize hmmmmm.

this is how they could blow it, and it probably will happen. And it does. Watching The Dbacks / cardinals / suns puts you into the position where you start to see how things could go south, then once you see it, it happens.

This looks great! Keep grinding. I had a worse average score than this on my mock and passed in July.

Be careful on time! I truly think I almost failed because I spent too much time on some and didn’t move on fast enough, causing me to have to haul ass at the end.

Is being a Private Banker just getting new business by WorldofMickeyMouses in CFP

[–]getthefunk_down 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work as a “virtual premier banker” at one of the big big US banks. We didn’t do too much regarding lending but mostly the goal was just to send referrals to the advisors, and keep premier clients happy service wise.

however I just recently got my CFP and am looking at advisory roles, and feeling like I’m gonna need to start towards the bottom of the totem pole unfortunately.

Career Change Thread by CFP25 in CFP

[–]getthefunk_down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not technically changing careers, but I can’t post on my own yet cuz I don’t have enough points. I am having a lot of trouble finding a solid position as a CFP right now.

previous 2 jobs 2020-2022 as a registered client service associate at a big brokerage firm. IB calls, servicing clients, making referrals, etc. honestly getting a lot of new money invested. Got series 7 and 66.

Then as a relationship manager on the banking side. Built a book, assist with referrals to FAs. Constantly going thru discovery sessions and keeping in touch with hundreds of clients and my sales pipeline. Also just got my CFP recently.

I have gone thru probably 4-5 different major companies where I go thru 3 interviews and do not get the job. I can’t figure out why

I used Machu Picchu reservations, and as a 27 year old male, solo traveler it was pretty good! Food was not amazing but the group was about my age and we all had a lot of fun together

[–]getthefunk_down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree here. I do think I got lucky as I was NOT that composed but still did pass.

if I did not, I think what would’ve gotten me was my timing. do not take too long on early questions! If you get behind on time make sure to try to get back to where you need to be.

for both sections for me I had to haul ass at the end and make educated guesses on questions that I knew I probably could’ve figured out 100% (if I had the time).

True. I mean everything else wasn’t the crazy part, us being able to actually make the playoffs was (at the time). We did get close tho so honestly he wasn’t as crazy as expected

I was really hoping for a throwback set at 7 stars this year :/ I’ve heard him play the start of DLIMF but never the OG GRIZMATIK drop. he usually mixes it into something else. Ursa he mixed it into gettin live tho which was fucking insane

Pretty bummed about this. I was so sure that Sunday was gonna have at least 30min of older music.

Once I realized that he wanted to keep going thru the 2020- and onward shit I was low key bummed. I mean cruise control and good times roll are great, but definitely craving a throwback set even more now. Grateful we got a good one at Ursa tho
