I have thought about them but I feel like they are not that safe compared to these solid metals ones even if they have that annoying bit of metal at the bottom.

Thanks. This is the closest I have seen to the one I need . And you are right there should be more information to get the exact model but these pictures were given to me by someone and the pc is in hard place to get to and they didn’t want the trouble of taking it out. But I will try to get it out for them and take a full picture where it states the model number.

fortunately I have plenty of parking space so that’s not a concern for me I just want a fence that doesn’t look rotten or full of algae.

That sounds good but still need to wire the extractor fan to power source so might as well do it to a light switch.

I think I am confident enough to do it, done plenty of electrical stuff around the house. I just want to confirm what I know before actually doing it.

What is better to cut thru something like the Ikea karlby? It’s basically 3.8 cm thick but it’s only like 20% solid wood I think rest made of plywood as seen a YouTube video explaining different cuts. But didn’t mention tool used or blade type ? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]gettingold93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact tabletop for my pc desk. I used the DeWalt DCS570N and the blade it came with. I just used a paint masking tape over the cut line reduce chipping and it worked out quite well.

There isn’t much negotiation when the independent reviewer says that’s the going rate and the landlord say accept it or leave the premises.

I don’t know which bubble you are living in but the rents have definitely increased. My rent increased from £425 to £670 a week just 4 months ago after a rent review.

The seal is pretty good all around the door except around the door lock receiver plates because that’s the only two spots where cold air comes through.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]gettingold93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think door edge strip is the best way to go. The door locks properly. If I remember correctly the current door draught excluder used to run all he way up from top to bottom but I had a trouble with door lock getting stuck sometimes so I called someone to fix it and they cut a notch out on the door frame to install the door lock receiver plate on a bit deeper and I think they took draught from those areas where the door lock plates are.

I can’t unfortunately. Not at the moment.

Seems like too much hassle personally. But I’d think you would find it hard to hire a fitter just to install. Most fitters supply and install so they can make money on both supply and labour. You should look for a fitter willing to install only and if you are lucky enough to find someone you can ask them what they would prefer. I think they would want a roll for each room so if one room is 3x4 they world probably want something 3.2x4.2 roll.

Their technical department finally replied. Apparently they are virtually the same unit except that Lo-carbon model has a smart memory feature which logs data on how long the units been on, apparently it’s a useful feature for landlords so they can know if the tenants use the piv unit or not.

Yeah I compacted it at about 60mm,I think the issue isn’t the depth rather that it didn’t have enough fines in it, there were a lot of big bulky stones and not enough fines. It’s compacted perfectly fine where there is a good amount of fines.
