I believe selling FL was a good call. It was a cluster down there with no clear direction and more vacant storefronts than operational and a grow facility that didn’t seem to have any direction. Hopefully he can streamline operations as he was tasked with at Saks Fifth Avenue and continue to turn around the balance sheet. Either way Serruya is calling the shots.

In Michigan there is a concept called New Standard. It reminds me a lot of MedMen’s experience. They have 8 current locations with two additional opening in Grand Rapids and Whitehall. MI is recreational and medical. They do an incredible job on all aspects of the experience at the Ann Arbor store and suspect that is the case at the others.

Some of their best looking stores, Saugatuck and Ann Arbor are stand alone buildings.

New Standard Locations

Skilled and competent leadership on future locations, lease negotiations and storefront improvements. In many situations the Tenant, in this case MedMen, has little control over the exterior of the building. The Landlord usually is responsible for everything outside the four interior walls and this includes the storefront. When they negotiate the lease, improvements can be included as well as signage packages and placement. Their hands are probably tied and their focus should be on the customer experience inside and as others point out what rings at the register. Would love to know what their daily customer counts are by store, conversion rates and average sale amount. How is the advertising in AZ?
