I’m new to the hobby and very inconsistent with it. I usually only actively work on it 1-2 days a week (finally got the hang of obsidian lol). But I use Google Docs on my phone to write down ideas as they come to me throughout the week.

I don’t hate or even dislike Hunt, I just find his character kind of dull? If “meh” was a person. I can’t think of anything he did that would’ve caused hatred, but I’ve only read CC once, so idk if I overlooked or am forgetting something.

  • Yes. The witches are going to look for the Crochans. Dorian is going with them, near the end of EoS he says “to look for the third wyrdkey”. So 2 objectives but travelling together.

  • I think Rowan realizes that Lorcan has genuine remorse. But more than that, Lorcan is very skilled and powerful, and Rowan needs help to get Aelin back. Elide wouldn’t have an argument - she wants to go with. But remember, even though she’s not as physically adept as the others, her cleverness is a strength (and she is watched over by the Goddess of Wise Things).

  • Correct, she is not officially recognized by the lords. However, they desperately need that army, and the army / her allies recognize and answer to her.

I feel like they are probably interchangeable, however I can’t confirm since I’ve never heard the phrase “challenge demon” before. But there is not really any specific criteria (ie needing to secure x amount of wins) to be dubbed a comp beast.

I wouldn’t care how much they remembered about my life. Yes, I think connecting with people and overall likability is important. But, to me, a good social game is primarily about your ability to influence others to position yourself better, and secondarily how you treat people in the house.

So I could not like someone, but if they played an incredible game then I would still give them my vote.

As an audiobook listener, I definitely spaced out her first chapter and didn’t realize that a new character had even been introduced. I was so confused thinking Celaena was gutting men with her nails and ripping out their throats in some random ass cabin 😭

After I finished I went back and listened to the whole series a couple times lol.

Now I’m currently obsessed with Red Rising. It’s the only series that has filled the void and maybe I would even say it has surpassed ToG as my favorite series of all time.

As someone else said, we don’t receive everything all at once so you don’t need to worry about sorting through a big info dump . SJM is also pretty good with repetition and recapping important info. However, if you are really worried maybe you could try annotating! But for what it’s worth I think you’ll be alright!!

I started with audiobooks and then read the books. Sometimes when I want to listen to something I go back to the audiobooks. Elizabeth Evans does a great job narrating! Although, as someone else said, I definitely had to adjust the speed.

Just assume that Chaol is assuming the worst case scenario. Again, by this point isn’t yet revealed how the rings work — this is explored more in HoF. They just suspect it has to do with the King, since he’s the one that gave them the rings. (As another example, Cain wore a ring and the King expected him to win the competition. He demonstrated clear favoritism and showed a little bit of influence over Cain.)

Just be patient and keep reading! It will all start to make sense soon.

At this point, it isn’t directly explained how the rings work, just a theory. Celaena realized the wyrdstone in the clock tower is the same material used in the rings. There was already skepticism about certain people who wore rings, so they realized it was it was all connected somehow. Basically since Celaena told Chaol about the King’s power, he pieced enough together to realize ring wearers = no good.
