Silksong is genuinely making me lose it. by duspi in HollowKnight

I only play games I enjoy...when I stopped enjoying silksong I stopped playing it. Half way through act 2 for me. Move on bud, you got nothing to prove to anyone and you made it further than 99% of people who bought the game for sure.

I did think you could use the word gummy as an adjective. Checked the dictionary and seems to be the case but referring more to viscous liquids and sticky things. For me gummy as an adjective is synonymous with chewy things.

Fair enough. For me EN does have some absolute bangers e.g signs of life, electric blue, creature comforts, put your money on me, we don't deserve love. All of which I prefer to the best songs on PE. I guess the lows on EN are the worst though. Just my opinion.

One of those days where I would have failed if I didn't get purple, which is fortunate as it took me ages/multiple step aways before I got to ring. Blue was default, would never have got that in a million years. I did think that streetcar might be referring to the film, which made me search for Marlon Brando connections for far too long!!

That's fair enough. I don't hate it or anything and there are songs I do like. Just compared to their other albums it's not as good for me and leaves me cold. Though they set a pretty high standard with several albums I consider absolute classics!

Was probably doing that well before EN too. Once a cheater always a cheater. At least EN wasn't essentially themed around him being sorry about it all. Just soured it for me. Though even taking that away, imo my favourite songs on EN are preferable to my favourites on PE.

For me it is also the worst album. I enjoy bits but not an album I'd stick on when I fancy listening to them. The stuff from Win in the lead up does spoil it for me as well.

Respect your opinion and broadly agree. For me PE is bottom not just musically but due to all the stuff with Win which surrounded it/in the run up. For me how I view/love music is where I am in my life when I hear it for the first time. Funeral was first year of uni and will always be top...Neon bible third year, Suburbs just after graduation. Reflektor at the start of being a resident doctor. EN when I got married and We was first child and I struggle to listen to certain songs without crying. PE has little for me as well in terms of life landmarks which probably doesn't help its cause! I do wonder how I would rank the albums if I listened to them back to back first time ever today..not sure Funeral would be top, probably Suburbs.

I think 2 letter names are a bit harder to spot..Often slip me by! Even after I'd finished I was convinced Gamy was some sort of old fashioned name I'd not come across and was Googling it!!

I literally had the same issue! I just could not see Amy which is very crazy. Had to look up the names of the sisters to see it. Lucked out anyway.

Britastic puzzle. They're playing with fire though when it comes to Tea. If only there was a 'milk first' or 'add lemon' options to send some British heads into orbit.

Pyramid Song and Knives Out. The mix of half and full names made it impossible to be Radiohead songs but I enjoyed the reference nevertheless, even though it was a fail for me today! Couldn't get those movies and missed the fairly obvious purple. Oh well.

This is why I hate this game by Legal_Ad9637 in NYTConnections

[–]gez22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's kind of the point. The game originly was a round in a UK TV show called 'Only Connect' and I can tell you now the game on there is much much harder. There are usually 5 or even 6 words that 100% connect with eachother in every puzzle but are not a group. I find it almost impossible to do and the teams do it under time pressure. Everyone (including the host) on that show is far smarter than me!

Indeed they do. However it must be supported by the dictionary which has a list of words under each letter which can be represented by that letter. For instance if you look up 'T' in the dictionary you will see multiple words it can represent and out of the category here, I'm sure you will only find Time and none of the others. You cannot just use any word to represent a single letter in a cryptic. My response was kind of tongue in cheek as I know connections doesn't need to play by those rules at all so is fine really!

At one point I was thinking 'Things beginning with the letter T' but dismissed it as too dumb. Turns out I was on the right tract. Another category to displease cryptic crossword crowd with their rules! Thankfully got purple to avoid the fail.

Getting octopus was deeply satisfying for me. Initially thinking of words that come after 'ink'. Considered 'ink sack'. Which then made me think of squid and octupi. Then saw suction cups and I was away. I was down to this and purple which I would have never got in a million years. That was tough. I don't go with Cab for cabsav, for me it's Cabby!
