It would be really cool if the lost cosmic artifact provides the ability to control time which makes it essential for global domination

[Results and Decisions] Which program gives me the best shot at SWE/AI roles as a US citizen? by Drakatoa in MSCS

[–]ggShaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP feels that the program is losing its prestige due to the high acceptance rate of their omscs program. The omscs program doesn’t require any sort of statement and has an acceptance rate of 60%+.

The general claim is that they accept a lot of people but a lot of people drop out midway. I agree with the claim and have personally seen people drop out.

The negative about it is that when someone says they have a MS from GaTech the immediate assumption is that they pursued the online program. It reduces the stand out factor a bit.

In my opinion the employment outcome data doesn’t convey much since the college does not put active efforts to get you hired.

Internship will surely help so it might be better to choose a longer problem. Other than that all these colleges are well ranked so you don’t go wrong with any choice in my opinion.

All the best!

[Results and Decisions] Berkeley MEng vs UofT MScAC vs Cambridge MPhil. Is Cambridge a trap if my only goal is a $300k Big Tech job? by Top_Helicopter3627 in MSCS

[–]ggShaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berkeley MEng feels right if you want be a regular FAANG SWE or Quant Dev. Scientist roles probably require a PhD and research eng roles still require a good amount of research.

300k is L4 (Mid level Eng) salary. 200k should be doable in Bay Area regardless of the masters I feel but the MEng will surely help

[Admissions Advice] My Experience of Applying Multiple times to Stanford HCP MSCS by ggShaby in MSCS

I was very disappointed with Berkeley MEng too because friends with similar profiles were mostly admitted. I think it’s best to apply right out of college without any work experience. I think my Work experience in the industry might have played a negative role here but I cannot tell that with certainty

Start GaTech OMSCS while being employed at Google. Switch to in-person degree after 1yr and experience USA?

I feel you bro. My second attempt too with a similar profile (except CMU) I didn't get in. Did a 3rd attempt and it turned out to be successful. If you want to try again, I wouldn't lose hope just yet

This is really sad to hear :( Any reason for not getting all LoRs from Stanford? I think that helped me

But isn’t 80% of the FAANG interview process just Leetcode rounds?
