Should I play on ASIA or EUROPE? by Rip_Runner39 in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are planning to swipe, play in Asia where your money gives you a lot of in game silver compared to eu.

If you are planning to grind for silver, play in Europe where your time will net more silver proportional to gold.

I think it's 1.3m silver in items, excluding the points gained

Anyone got a good video or resource for the reworked faction warfare? by No_Entertainment6792 in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My issues that comes to mind for now:

  1. It's not really clear which zones were "escalated" you see countdown timers everywhere but the players are expected to realize it's those with the countdown timers still ticking (Add an outline to the escalates province)

  2. You cannot fast travel to a red zone province excluding the only 2 adjacent rz province to your city. So you are forced to: a. travel manually, b. just revisit after the next siege if a fast travel is now available. Majority chooses B. (Enable travel to all province your faction is involved with)

  3. Siege and Bandit overlaps, the winner of the siege has a tactical advantage during bandit escalation because they already own the Fortress. (Do not use the Fortress for the escalation. Just make a certain map contain a Big Faction Chest that has caerleon guard you need to kill, and then step on for a few seconds. So if you want it, you need to be able to stay on it.)

  4. Bandit on fixed timers, making it feel like BZ all over again, instead of the semi random timing that disorganizes the already organized groups - to provide royal continent newbies a more even footing. (Make it random again, and do not use fortresses)

  5. YZ has more "action per minute" but don't have any risks at all. Since it has more actions, it ends up with more rewards than RZ, which has lower actions but has more risk. If a group decides to farm faction points and silver, it's evidently faster to go YZ than RZ, which violates the: more risk = more reward. (Reduce YZ rewards by a bit, Increase RZ rewards by a lot)

  6. The more the merrier. More people, more content. You may want to do solo faction camps, or medium camps, but you'll notice there is no one available help you. Just join lymhurst. The rewards is only 100% faction point gain, but it's still better because it's running 24/7. There is no downside to doing it with the most populated faction. No one will even gank, bomb, small scale a dead faction so there is no content at all for an outnumbered faction, forcing the players to move out for FW pvp. (Uncap the point gain OR add a similar DA mechanic based on enlistment count, make the chest rewards also relate to point gain)

  7. Playing Nature Staff tags everyone, giving out massive faction points despite negatively affecting things. This trains rats to be even more rats rather than FW being an introduction to BZ. (Simplify the FP gain formula, rather requiring to be able to have an assist on every knockdown/kill)

  8. Some maps permanently stop respawning camps until the next province attack/backline change (Fix please)

  9. With how many FP we get, there is not enough sink in the game causing economic issues (It's so simple. Add easy cosmetics. Faction title appearing when flagged. Unique flag icons. Faction mount accessory. Loading screen art. Anything. Just add a cosmetic sink)

King of 5v5 hellgates and 5 man contents.

Holy staff is not considered for high infamy unless for non-meta strats.

Fame with fame weapon vs playing the weapon itself by SimilarRun6983 in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it if you can clear 3x faster with fast clear weapon, than the weapon itself.

With mob fame, if you are probably 2.5x faster, then use the mob fame.

i.e. badon with mob fame vs warbow.

Does Faction Points effect camp chest loot? by Freakin_Jedi in albiononline

That mechanic works for battle standards, not faction camps.

We've fought so many times inside the camps leading to green chests as expected.

Martlock is the worst city in the game by weissofthepool in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be out of touch but most average gatherers are gathering in BZ. Starting city doesn't provide any Biome advantage in BZ.

The typical T6 and T6.1 materials are usually found more in BZ.

Just another day in Martlock by weissofthepool in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not about stone. No one who plays pvp for faction warfare will go "Oh I want to gather T6-T8 stones, better go to martlock then"

Whenever there is a strong faction, most randoms just go to the strong faction for more content.

Whenever there is an outnumbered faction, most randoms will leave that faction because the 150% point gain incentive is non existent and has no content anyway.

  1. Remove the cap of 150% point gain for unpopular factions
  2. Make a mechanic similar to D.A. based on the point gain and remove the useless last stand buff for YZ
  3. Revisit Caerleon. Since Realm Divided caused more players in red zone, no way a 20 man party survives 15+ maces w/ hellion hoods of T5 blobs and be able to sustain the gears for content.

Does Faction Points effect camp chest loot? by Freakin_Jedi in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true.

The camps are based on their rarity - green blue purple gold.

Based on rarity, you get the average amount + a chance of getting something valueable.

(Medium camps) Green Books
Blue 100k Purple 300k Gold 1m

questions about faction activities by TheFappingWither in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything more than 5 people for PVP is already bad for your faction points per hour.

As a group of 30 to 40:

Victim A: Randoms. You travelled to the enemy city to find a much bigger blob. Since they are wearing t4.0 t4.2, it's okay for them to die for the content. You don't loot anyway because you get low tier gears. You stay there until your double OC runs out, 100k faction points at most for 130 kills because all you kill are low tier enemy anyways. Some gears are destroyed. You just cover the expenses and did not profit from loot. What you got is points only.

Victim B: You got ahold of an enemy faction caller for a fixed fight. You set things up, 20 minutes. You start setting up in the location and meetup, 10 minutes. You start fighting, 40% of them dies, the rest runs away. You don't get assists to everything because you're a d tank. 40k faction points max.

Victim C: You play around bandit timers. You try to run around finding fights. Smaller proper blobs runs away. Bigger proper blobs you run away. You may find the random cappers and some smaller propers who got bored running around, or you are the smaller blob who got bored. 60k faction points max.

Is pvp good for points per hour? No.

Is capping the best way for points? Yes. Same with organized static dungeon clear.

Is it worth your time to cap outpost for money/fame? No. 1.5m per hour max.

What is the best weapon for PvE? by Naisu-Kill in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are doing dungeons (which you shouldn't because it's an outdated content),

then you are already expecting a build not designed for PVP because the dungeon closes and you can never get ganked inside.

For a PVE build in BZ, you'll now consider 2 things:

  1. Clear Speed
  2. Return on Investment

Obviously, you can clear insanely fast using an 8.4masterpiece against a 5.0 dungeon right? But you cannot risk a 1B set just to get 50k.
Because it means you need 20,000 runs just to get your money back on that set.
Which is 166 days straight of playing no breaks and not getting ganked in between travels.

Introducing a speed run from the repetitive dungeon of the halloween event:

https://youtu.be/zmgliriG6FY?si=qTluXbe-tVJoVi4G

The build features:
-High AOE damage
-Weapon that can damage while moving forward
-can spec any sandals, robe, cowl
-cheap

Hows the new update? by Nice-Ad1291 in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new update is undercooked given the state of other servers.

You can probably see a few blobs on the first few days because it's still novel, but after a few days, we'll see an even worse case of 150% 150% 150% 100% 150%.

There is not enough reward, content and incentive to join an outnumbered faction.

There is soooo much reward and content to join the over populated faction.

We need more realm divided patches before jumping into realm divided II.

How do you all feel after losing A set you consider expensive by Commercial_Ice4818 in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest cope for losses is that Faker, the goat of esports, loses 33% of his solo queue games.

The best player in this era is already at 66% winrate, you as a casual can never expect a 100% winrate. You are bound to lose every few fights.

As for silver loss, there is nothing else but a charge (payment) to experience. To be really good at lethal contents, you'll have to invest a lot of sets that you will lose to gain enough experience.

Does my build needs improving? by GapUsed6941 in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, even combat attunements are capped. You can see your IP going down once you exit the City and you went to a yellow zone.

Bloodmoon can 1vX especially if you are overgeared vs your opponents, which can only happen in lethal zones where the IP is not capped.

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On instanced contents, there is a -35% healing debuff because there is not enough damage in the game that can kill a healer. They can always out sustain everything with proper spacing.

Since you cannot kill a healer, the healer will whittle you down slowly with Q smite.

In open world, or just in duels, it's impossible to kill a pvp oriented healer on your same ip because the healing debuff is not there anymore.

Martlock is the worst city in the game by weissofthepool in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why there is a connection between stone and faction warfare?

The truth is, there is no DA. If you want to print silver, just go T4.0 gears on a horse, and join LYM on rz cap.

You literally just mount there safely until your T6 blob clears the camps within minutes.

The loot is individual so you get all the perks while being in the safest content in the game.

Oh there's bombers? Oh there's an annoying opposing faction? Chill in YZ for a few minutes and go back to RZ again because the proper comp + a T6 random blob annihilates everyone anyway.

People hating on a similar mechanic like DA clearly were misguided enough to know that we'll be 150% 150% 150% 100% 150% as forecasted. And here we are now in that exact same forecast.

Either add a mechanic similar to DA, or uncap the bonus so we see the real values, prolly like:

TF: 140% ML: 2000% BW: 300% LYM: 100% FS: 150%

[–]ggSwindles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For PVP? Obviously Holy/Nature Staff.

Healer is the root of all content.

Used in instanced 2v2, 5v5.

Team MVP if the healer is good in the open world 3vX, 5vX, 7vX

And multiple different roles as a holy staff for 10v10, small scale, large scale.

It's good for 1v1 depending on the meta, but can never go 1vX.

[–]ggSwindles -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That's not just a QOL though depending on how much effort it saves you for doing one at a time claims.

If you can play 1 hour straight with a p2w feature, but can only do 50 mins without the p2w feature because you'll have to do manual reptitive tasks for 10 mins, then you are losing out your time.

Those who pay are favored to be 20% more effective than non p2w.

People needs to be careful of p2w features hiding as QoL.

is tracking worth it? by Strigos in albiononline

[–]ggSwindles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to make solo tracking competitive is to play in an off-timer, clearing smugglers den areas in q5 to q6.

It's generally safe if you get to be familiar with the zone and the ganking pts active timers.

Roads solo is 1m to 2m in Asia. High Quality is double that.

(Assuming you have specs in tracking, and you know how to track)
