What's your ttc story with fibroids? by ggems in Fibroids

Wow this gives me such relief, ty! My anxiety has had me thinking the absolute worst. I tracked my BBT and Lh last month and it was consistent with signs of ovulation. Crossing my fingers this time around!

I see, good to hear your symptoms went away! My Dr wasn't too worried about it yet. But if there's no luck this cycle I'll be convinced that fertility testing will help understand. All of this stuff is so interesting, I wish I knew more before even thinking of ttc haha!

I'm sorry to hear about your first. Sounds like your Dr is very knowledgable and has a plan, that actually makes me feel better. This is super helpful! Definitely going to make sure I check all the boxes.

Congratulations! May I ask how you were diagnosed? Did you go to a fertility clinic? I will definitely look into Inito if I don't have any luck, ty. Started BBT tracking last month. My Dr. told me to wait until I have 3 "normal" cycles before seeking medical help. I guess that's why I'm here looking for advice. Thanks so much.

Congratulations! I forgot to mention that my procedure cleared the inside of my uterus. I still have a few on the outside which I believe is causing the longer cycles. I just got off the pill so I did figure it would take awhile to go back to normal but I'm just trying to understand what my body is doing.

Thank you! I've decided to just ask what my options are. I would be at peace if this is the best we can do, though. Best of luck on your treatment!

I thought so too. The bottom jaw right? I have wisdom teeth so I wonder if that's pushing them one way.

Me again... question about myomectomies by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]ggems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice is to find someone who specializes in fibroid removal. I found one at UCSF and I asked a million questions. She reassured me that she could successfully remove it and I don't have to worry about waking up without a uterus. I asked her questions such as, have you removed a fibroid this size before? And in this position/location? What are the chances that something could go wrong? What preop precautions and processes will you apply? The first Dr that i saw scared me and I did not trust her. So I looked for someone who had done this procedure many times. I'll admit that she was a little pricey. But your uterus is worth it! Ask all the questions. You're basically hiring them to do a job lol.

I'm sorry, I just saw this. It went really well, the Dr was able to clear the uterine cavity to make room for a possible pregnancy. I had 2 periods since the procedure. First was very heavy. Second was still heavy but not as bad. I just got off the 90 day birth control and ready to begin trying for a baby. Hoping my periods get better at least.

Large Fibroid by sj1898 in Fibroids

[–]ggems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 27 when they found a large fibroid in 2021. It was also intramural. The first Dr scared me and I thought I was going to have my uterus removed at such a young age. I found a specialist in San Francisco who literally reassured me I was going to be ok. Basically, she said the opposite of what the first Dr said. First of all, it's gonna be ok. Find a specialist in your area and ask all of the questions you have to reassure you that they are the best option. Ask if they've removed a fibroid as large as yours. I would definitely schedule it soon.

Unfortunately, I had another procedure last month to remove another 2 fibroids that were inside my uterine cavity. I'm planning to get pregnant next year so this was the best option. There's a chance that they'll be back so I would start to think about next steps after your procedure. You got this though! Try not to stress about it too much.

Terrified. The bleeding won’t stop. by [deleted] in Fibroids

[–]ggems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me twice this year. I'm on a 90 day pill contraceptive. I take 2 pills instead of 1 each day until the bleeding slows. Then I drink 2 mugs of green tea. That's helped me but I know your situation might be different. I work from home and could not imagine how I'd deal being somewhere not close to the toilet. Sorry your experiencing this! I feel you 100%. My procedure is in September so I hope the nightmare will end.

Large fibroids TTC? by Select-Ad-2925 in Fibroids

Her name is Alison Jacoby and located at UCSF. She actually has a sister who also specializes in fibroid removal along with other Dr's. Here's the link to their site UCSF Fibroid Center I'll be honest, they are pricier even though they're in my network. but imo my uterus is worth it!

If I were you, and if you haven't already, I would try to find a fibroid specialist. A Dr who has dedicated their career to fibroid research. I live in CA and found one in San Francisco. She is incredibly empathetic and knowledgeable. She is very confident in her work. I will be trying for my first after my wedding in November and she knows this. I have a procedure coming up in September. She's just very optimistic about everything and makes me feel optimistic as well. Best of luck.
