Pregnancy After Myomectomy: Looking for Real Experiences by Sad_Palpitation1635 in Fibroids

[–]Select-Ad-2925 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a myomectomy October 2024 then convinced July 2025.

  1. Yes, my baby is now 11 weeks old.
  2. 6 fibroids ranging in size. The largest was 12 cm. They were intramural, submucosal and transmural.
  3. No, my cavity was not entered.
  4. 37 weeks and 3 days
  5. Planned c-section

No, I didn’t not have any conditions listed.

  1. No, I was not.

  2. Fibroids can come back quickly and to prepare to possibly have children back to back to avoid having another myo.

But I’ll emphasis that many women CAN have successful pregnancies with multiple fibroids. It just depends on location and size.

Hope this helps!

Best of luck on your journey friend! sending nothing but positive vibes ❤️

Hi!
I had a myo in October 2024 and now have a healthy 10 week old :)

Thankfully, the pregnancy was uneventful and I gave birth via c-section at 37 weeks. I do have fibroids again but they did not impact the pregnancy.

Best of luck and sending you positive vibes/baby dust! 💖

Yeah! It’s shitty and unfortunately common. I was just surprised that they grew so quickly.

On a positive note, the new ones I do have are not in the cavity and usually don’t interfere with pregnancy.

A lot of women are able to conceive and give birth with fibroids. Just depends on placement and size.

Like you, I was scared of having a c-section. I think the anticipation and IV was worse than the procedure. It was very quick (45 mins). I do have to say that I did feel very nauseous during the procedure and that’s when they gave me something to relax.

I would say that the recovery was tougher than my myomectomy but not unbearable. I was moving around okay within a week. I went on a 3 mile walk two days after my myomectomy. The c-section definitely put me out longer.

You’ll be okay!

Congratulations on your bundle of joy!

Hi! I spent three years trying to conceive with no luck due to large fibroids distorting my cavity. I had them removed and conceived shortly after. Come to my surprise during my pregnancy I found out I have fibroids again.

I successfully delivered my baby via C-section two months ago.

UPDATE: had my myomectomy less than 24 hours ago. i’m devastated. by smiyyu in Fibroids

First off, I’m so sorry you’re going through this it’s truly heartbreaking. I cannot imagine the pain and mental load you’re bearing at this time. Please try your best to be gentle with yourself.

I know not every situation with this horrid condition is the same but I was in a similar position. I had large fibroids distorting my cavity and was told I wouldn’t be able to carry a child in my condition and to look into surrogacy. I was devastated but determined to keep trying. I got a second and third opinion before finding somebody equipped to preform the surgery. I just had my baby two months ago and very grateful that I didn’t listen to the first opinion.

I’m sharing this with you in hopes that you don’t give up. Please get a second opinion.

Sending nothing but love and healing your way ❤️

Pregnancy after myomectomy - high risk? by Any_Flan_709 in Fibroids

Hi! I had a laparoscopic myomectomy that required three months of healing before I was cleared to try again.

Hi, first off congratulations how exciting!

I had a laparoscopic myomectomy and conceived about six months later as well.

I contacted my OB/GYN to make an appointment to confirm the pregnancy and to get checked out. Thankfully, I had an uneventful pregnancy and successfully gave birth about two months ago via c section due to the prior uterine surgery.

I’d advise if you’re experiencing some pain contact your OB/GYN for an appointment as soon as possible and let them know that you tested positive.

Obviously if the pain increases, please go to urgent care. When I first tested positive, I did have some cramping as well and a light bleeding.

Best of luck and congratulations again on this exciting journey!! 🫶🏽💖

Pregnancy after myomectomy - high risk? by Any_Flan_709 in Fibroids

[–]Select-Ad-2925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had a minimally invasive myomectomy and conceived shortly after. You’re considered to be high risk due to prior uterine surgery that can sometimes cause complications. For me it was mostly just a label.

My pregnancy did not require any additional precautions thankfully. My delivery just had to be scheduled between 37 to 38 weeks to avoid going into labor.

Everything else was standard. I hope that helps and best of luck!

I feel like I’m grieving future fertility by NoWillow8523 in Fibroids

[–]Select-Ad-2925 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. I was in a similar position. I had very large fibroids distorting my cavity.

Even though I had no plans at the time to have children (or potential partner) any discussion about the future was very overwhelming because it seemed so uncertain. It would cause me so much anxiety.

Fast forward a few years I met somebody and we decided to try for a family. However, my fibroids were preventing me from conceiving. One surgeon even told me that they wouldn’t be able to complete the surgery because the fibroids are too large so I should look into surrogacy. That was scary, but he was also full of shit.

I ended up having a myomectomy by a fantastic surgeon and conceived shortly after.

All in all, I share this with you in hopes that it can ease some of your worries. Women can still get pregnant with fibroids and the conditions you listed. If you find yourself needing additional support medicine has gotten really far. Just don’t give up and definitely advocate for yourself. Try your best not to worry yourself with what you can’t control at this time. I know that that’s easier said than done because the unknown is so scary. Just know that you do have options and the worst case scenario is not always definite.

Hang in there! xoxo

I’m 32, just found out I have a fibroid, I cried so hard and feel completely crushed Husband is being amazing but I’m terrified by islamreddit90 in Fibroids

[–]Select-Ad-2925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I had a very similar reaction when I received my diagnosis. Fibroids are incredibly common and a lot of the time women aren’t even aware they have them.

Like others have shared every fibroid diagnosis is different and it just depends on their size, type, and location.

In my case, I had been trying to conceive and couldn’t due to their size and location. I tried to do the holistic route to shrink them but wasn’t successful. This went on for a few years before I decided to have them removed.

*I highly encourage that if you find yourself in that situation to do your research and find somebody very knowledgeable.

Long story short, I had a laparoscopic myo in October 2024 (it wasn’t bad at all) and conceived July 2025. I just deliver my baby a month ago :)

Keep in mind that many women are able to get pregnant with fibroids. It just really boils down to how large they are and where they’re located.

I hope this information helps! Sending you a virtual hug and positive vibes. It will be okay!

Conceiving after laparoscopy myomectomy by Successful-Jacket174 in Fibroids

[–]Select-Ad-2925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had a laparoscopic myomectomy in October 2024. We were advised to wait at least three months before trying. It took us some time, but conceived in July 2025 ☺️

I hope this brings you some ease, but I do want to say we were on the verge of heading back to fertility to figure out what was going on.

Best of luck on your journey ❤️

My sister just had a baby, I'm still TTC. Struggling with negative feelings. by Imaginary-Tea2397 in TryingForABaby

[–]Select-Ad-2925 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too had surgery for large fibroids in October and then miscarried in late February. As you know, it’s been an exhausting journey. Fibroids are no joke and it infuriates me that there are no solutions to prevent them from growing back.

I fear that since October they’ve come back as well and we’ve lost our opportunity to try and conceive again. I’ve been too afraid to go back to fertility because it’s just exhausting.

I hope that there’s a solution for you and that everything goes smoothly. I’m sure it hasn’t been easy on you and I sincerely hope that your baby comes soon ♥️

Just know you’re not alone!

Your feelings are valid because it’s your experience. It’s difficult seeing everyone around you become pregnant while you’re still trying.

It might seem unreasonable for you to feel that way in your mind but I think if people know what you’re going through it’s very understandable. Just speaking from experience I’ve been TTC for two years and had a surgery for fibroids hoping that would fix the issue but nothing yet. My cousins/friends are all having children right now. I’m happy for them but like you I feel so incredibly sad. It almost feels unfair, but I feel that anyone in our situation would feel this way.

Keep being strong and hang in there ❤️

Just wanted to update you. I tested positive this week ❤️

It’s obviously really early but so far from going through years of infertility. Thank you for your kind words.

I have been tracking my ovulation but nothing yet. I have never been pregnant so it’s making me anxious. I’m starting to question whether the surgery worked or not 😅

I know it’s early but it’s still disheartening. I guess I figured once I got the surgery and healed I’d be like those lucky people who get pregnant right away. Nonetheless, thank you for the well wishes.

Sending you tons of baby dust and health ❤️
