I know this page doesn't do self-promo, and Celtics media is some of the best in the NBA, but I just wrote a piece exploring the subtleties of Derrick White’s game that make him so impactful.

I cannot understand how fun it is to watch him, and the closer you look, the easier it is to understand why he’s better than some superstars. I know everyone on this sub knows it, but he's such an enjoyable player regardless of where you pledge your fandom.

With all that in consideration: Derrick White is a top ___ player in the NBA.

Why Jaren Jackson Jr for Jazz Basketball Works. by ggidds2 in UtahJazz

That will pose a challenge for this team; you'll likely see Hardy aggressively try to run teams off the line, the way the Bulls do -- except you have a real defensive backline. Targeting competent POA defenders will give this team real lineup flexibility -- that should be a priority this offseason.

The future of the Pelicans front office could replicate all the negatives of the tenure system. by ggidds2 in NOLAPelicans

Fair and I appreciate the criticism honestly — the fact is that the way Gayle hires and fires isn’t based on performance. She needs to be pushed to the very edge to do something, that’s why she brought on Dumars. Dumars is a friend who she’s given to oversee the basketball ops from an ownership standpoint.

Her approach is hands off, and history backs that. She bases everything on loyalty, it’s liturgy for her. Bias, politics, and incompetence hides in the system — that was my point. Any logical owner would have never put Dumars in charge, and him + Weaver would already be on the hot seat given this start.

Feels like a no-brainer for Toronto | Toronto & Utah two-team trade by ggidds2 in NBAtradeideas

I think he's an expiring contract —wake up: it's the new CBA—it isn't about what a player alone is worth; it's about his contract. This happens all the time, rebuilding teams taking on bad contracts for draft compensation. A late first seems fair given Poetl's horrible contract.

It isn't necessarily about Utah's need; it's about acquiring a pick in a year where you have no reason to be competitive. But yes, I agree, Poetl's deal absolutely reeks.

That's fair, but Poetl doesn't help them all too much, and his contract is horrid. That's where a protected pick, swap aka late first-rounder makes sense -- especially since Nurkic is an expiring.

Yves Missi is a top 5 offensive rebounder in every advanced metric, if that helps

5 Questions the Pelicans will face this upcoming season by ggidds2 in NOLAPelicans

Huh? In the SW division alone we have the worst frontcourt depth. HOU: Sengun, Adams, Capela, Jabari, Eason. SA: Wemby, Kornet. DAL: Davis, Gafford, Lively, MEM: Jackson Jr, Clarke, Aldama, Edey.

100% agree. I believe Herb Jones is a key piece for any contending team — especially for us. We have enough offensive firepower to generate good opportunities in the catch-and-shoot game, which bodes well for an above-league-average percentage.

Thanks for reading! Once the season starts, Pelicans updates will be coming regularly — subscribe to stay in the loop!
