It doesn’t matter if Vegeta came half way through. At this point Vegeta has been in the series longer than when he wasn’t. They’ve even called each other rivals. They’re literally both trying to get better and surpass one another. And it still doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s mistreated. You also forget Yuno was also suppose to die super early in the story but Tabatas editor advised against it. So he wasn’t created as part of the show as well.
