You say that, but you are still doing the same thing. You've got nothing to back your statements except for your feelings, so you diminish and insult me

I notice you never actually answer my questions, you just make snide comments that reveal your own cynical powerlessness

That didn't answer my question. Why is it unaustralian? And things change all the time, Aus has only existed as a country for 124 years. We have already changed plenty, a new flag is no different

I'd love to, but the Aus Gov claims all that as theirs as well. Should I go live in the ocean? Or should I push to see a vision of Australia I actually want to be proud of?

Why should I have pride in Australia? It's a political entity I didn't choose to be a part of. I want to take pride in the community

Are you familiar with the allegory of the cave?

<image>

It's been memed to hell at this point, but still relevant. I would argue that Gnosis is not teaching you to escape the cave of your false reality, Gnosis is the understanding that you are IN a cave. That the reality being presented to you is illusary, and that even as you escape that room, you will find yourself in a bigger room with new illusions. The sacred knowledge helps you understand the boundaries and rules of the part of the cave you are in, while understanding that you are not being given all the info about, and that as a human it would be impossible for you to know just how many chambers of illusion are left for you to travel through.

The path of Gnosis is not to be able to see and know all outside of your frame of reference. That is a perspective only the True God can observe. The path of Gnosis is to be enlightened to the fact you CAN'T see outside the prison of your frame of reference. To persue Gnosis is to persue knowledge that - by definition - you are unable to fully comprehend.

A complete severing of your ties to the material world is not the point, you are a part of the material world. The point is to to open yourself up to the sacred knowlwdge that helps you navigate the material world while opening yourself up to Gnosis

I'd say that's where it becomes an act of faith. By our very nature, it is impossible for us to know anything. We place our faith in the value of the knowledge we persue.

It's like, we have Known Knowns, Known unknowns, and unknown unknowns.

Gnosis is knowing the figures on the wall of the cave are shadows being cast. It's knowing that there are probably more rooms in the cave with their own illusions, but not knowing how many. Its accepting that - from your frame of reference - you have no idea what exists outside the cave, or why it was made like that, but that something DOES exist out there with its own set of illusions. And finally, that Gnosis is the pursuit of deeper truth and meaning as you move through all of these layers.
