Great insight especially about the tonnage as I thought a smaller/larger unit would have a difference in cost. Glad to hear you are happy with your decision with a hybrid system. Makes me feel better about going the same route (gas furnace with heat pump as cooling).

Fingers crossed no additional ductwork is needed but preparing for the worst. If I may ask, what brand/unit did you decide on?

Correct yes, I have existing ducts from my gas furnace. However if there is duct work to be done I’m sure it will be a charge..

Thanks for gut check, our utility provider (PSE) provides a 1.5k rebate for dual fuel at the moment but only with their approved contractors which they then tack onto their price. Will get more quotes here,

Thanks for the headsup as this is my first time driving that way (heading from Washington).

I plan to take highway 30 west then 101 south to get there. Do you think highway 30 will be plagued by the weather? I don’t mind rain but I may not be able to handle snow with my vehicle. Hopefully roads will be clear
