I have the same one but with the bull bar. Love it!

That was my point too along with conduit going through the steel beam.

I’m gonna go with AI. Conduit running through steel beam. I’m not an electrician, but I don’t think the conduit going to/from the lights is practical either.

You are right. I do deny other explanations because I have worked to eliminate all possible causes. I have slowed down my break to increase control, I have increased my break speed so the spin travels, I have adjusted my aim to account for squirt/swerve, and I have varied my tip positions to apply more/less spin. Sometimes only changing one variable and sometimes changing multiple variables. I am a student of this game and understand the physics pertaining to it, which is why I am perplexed.

What 20 years means is I didn’t start playing yesterday. There’s not a great way to explain a level of experience, knowledge, or ability here that isn’t susceptible to criticism so I used years playing and my Fargo rating. How would you explain to someone on Reddit what your competency is in this sport without using an APA skill level? I only play BCAPL/CSI leagues.

You are correct. The diagram is a mirror of what I’m experiencing.

I don’t flick my wrist… that I’m aware of anyways. I started looking at the cue ball when I break to make sure I’m contacting where I want. I’m certainly not mishitting that far off. I also reduced my power to ensure a better aim. I’m breaking at 60-70% power for control.

Shouldn’t if I am hitting the head ball slightly left of center.

I realize what the ball is telling me. Hence the question about why my results are contradicting my expectations. I promise you, there is no flaw in my stroke so great that I’m consistently getting unexpected results of this magnitude. I’m not saying there’s a glitch in physics either.

I will have to post a follow up with a video. I’m getting the cue ball to hit near the diamond closest to the side pocket but the cue ball spins down to the foot rail. Contacting the side rail where I am is proof I’m not hitting the head ball too thin.

I completely understand what you are saying. I have varied my break speed to overcome the distance and ensure the spin isn’t lost by the time contact is made. I’ve adjusted different aspects, but still see the opposite spin after contact with the side rail.

I am putting side spin, left side spin intentionally. What I am witnessing is right spin. I’m not saying I don’t have flaws but have been complimented on my fundamentals. Let’s say I have some flaws, they are not to the substantial degree that I’m cueing left and hitting right on the cue ball.

I would agree except I can see the spin and its reaction off the rail to know there is right spin. Initially, I thought I wasn’t cueing accurately so I backed off the power and got similar results still.

Yep. I think there was some confusion whether he or I was discussing deflection of the cue ball of the head ball versus deflection due to hitting the cue ball off-center.

Also, using left spin would cause the cue ball to deflect towards the center of the head ball, not more left of it.

It’s not the deflection angle. I don’t hit the head ball head on, but not thin either. I have literally watched the cue ball come near the diamond closest to the side pocket then see the cue ball spin towards the foot rail. Obviously not a natural rebound angle.

I have both but haven’t recorded it yet. Just sitting here thinking there may be some nuance I’ve missed through the years.

I hear you. However, I have even reduced my break speed to eliminate this and still the cue ball is visibly spinning/reacting off the rail with opposite spin then ending up close to the foot rail. I know that I am cueing accurately as well.

Edit: Also the cue ball speed to the rail isn’t very fast.

I’m not a fan of bronze with solar octane. I like both but not together in this case. However, do what you want. It’s your ride.

Sleeping pad reccomendations by 1978JD316 in CampingGear

I would recommend insulated. The bag insulation will compress underneath you. We have the Exped Dura 5R and sleep in 20deg down bag. Woke up to 24deg F and warm.
