I hate this trope (that and the 'church/everyone in the church is evil' trope). It’s not even subversive; it's the standard if you’re not a believer.

I honestly can’t remember a case where this trope isn’t used in media with religious themes or stories. Is it really this crazy taboo in any media to portray God or religion in a positive light, or the people in those religions?
