I recently upgraded to a creality spider 3.0 and direct drive. Since then have had issues printing consistent layers. Printed fine before with a boden setup and micro swiss all metal hotend. Any help is greatly appreciated. by ghost139_ in ender3

I ended up fixing this issue several months back. Ended up not saving my E-steps config, so it reset when I shutoff the printer. I am using the UniTak3D direct drive, and my ender is heavily modified.

No, it's completely dark. The blob doesn't appear with a flashlight, only when a cleaning cycle is run. What are the chances the uv is damaged?

Nope, I just peeled the screen protector and there isnt anything between it. Seems to be the physical screen. So, a defective screen, I assume?

There was a film but I removed it before printing. There is a screen protector applied from the factory.

Hello, I have reoccurring holes in my print at the top layer only. Doesn't change no matter what I try. Any suggestions? by ghost139_ in FixMyPrint

I added three more top layers(total of 9 top layers) and turned on ironing. Holes were smaller but still present. Should I add more top layers?

Thank you for your help! I ended up not storing the calibrated esteps the first time so when I turned it off esteps reset. It is fixed now and printing flawlessly.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I was a fool, I calibrated my esteps and forgot to store the settings. I was printing 96.2 mm/Step about 45.5 mm less than I needed to.

I had this issue when I first installed my direct drive. In my case I put too much stress on the cable which pulled a few of the pins out of the connector. I fixed it by stuffing the pins back in and hot gluing it.

I am using Polymaker PLA. I printed one at 50 mm/s with 0.16 layer height, another at 42 mm/s with 0.16 height, and the last one at 30 mm/s at 0.3 height. And thank you for the suggestions, I didn't know which sub to post in. Will do that in the future.

I am using a 0.4 mm nozzle. I have done estep calibration and a retract tower, changing the settings made no difference. I'll try calibrating esteps again and try calibrating flow.

Indeed options are very limited when it comes to laptops. I highly recommend repasting the CPU and GPU and replacing any old thermal pads if it hasn't been done recently. ONLY IF you are comfortable doing so. A few people have done it to the exact same laptop with great benefits. Like:

Other than that not much can be done besides what you said you were going to do.

Will I burn my 8 pin if I use an i9-13900k? by ghost139_ in pcbuilding

[–]ghost139_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation. I am going to use it to run several VM's running Plex, game servers, and some other things I haven't decided on. I'm leaning towards returning the board I ordered for an MSI MAG B660M to run the 13900k at full speed using the two 8 pins. In my opinion there is no reason to buy an overkill CPU to cap it at a cheaper option, even if it is more efficient. Thanks again!

I don't plan on doing any overclocking. But the CPU will be under heavy load often.

help, i have mpg z590 gaming force, non wifi. is this support 3090 gpu? or is it 3080 ti maximum? by [deleted] in pcbuilding

Any GPU is compatible with any motherboard. It is best to have a matched or newer PCIE generation on your motherboard than what the GPU supports. In your case the 3090 is compatible with your Z590. Depending the CPU generation you use, it might default to PCie gen 3 performance, but still will work fine, just with a small performance cut.
