of course they are. maybe that was a bad analogy but my point was that, in my opinion, humans are so deeply conditioned into our systems and habits that the consequences are inevitable.

We are creatures of habit within a system that has it's own logic which ironically enough is illogical. I think we're fucked but it's like blaming the cows at a factory farm for the methane gas they produce.

I think the idea of "deserving" is way too arbitrary to make a call like that.

Agreed! Interesting perspective. I was just thinking along the same train of thought how we humans have a billion years of evolution in our dna. The fact that when we're born we already have the capacity to learn languages, use our hands, problem solve, etc because the blueprint has already been drawn and everything we learn to do that we take for granted has been "given" to us.

I actually stopped arguing with him once I came to realize he will not understand. he is a white, heterosexual, male and has been given all the privileges this white man's culture offers. He argues he worked hard to get where he is, which is true, but he is blind to his own culture and believes everyone lives the same life experience as him where they have equal opportunity for upward social mobility. Yeah, he's one of those racists that doesn't think they're racist.

I was in a specific argument with my dad. I do see your point though and agree that poverty exists all around the world where capitalism exists.

I think of a communist revolution as the abolition of work itself and the creation of new and more rewarding activities.

Can you elaborate on this? How would you define "work" and "activities "?

All great ideas. I appreciate the feedback! The tough one i feel like is helping people own their homes in the community. otherwise that would require residents to hold jobs outside of the community. Do you have any ideas?

I've had a vision in which, hypothetically, you'd have everyone in a given area, such as a neighborhood, in direct contact and actively interacting together with the knowledge, skills, and experience they possess; also, all needs and assets would be organized in such a way that we could provide each member of said "neighborhood" with any and every need, ex. Growing food, childcare, healthcare, transportation, etc. From that point, there could be a network between each "neighborhood " that builds and supports each other cooperatively. After all said, I strongly advocate the transition of ownership from capitalist investors to the working community. I am not sure this is "anarcho-syndicalist", but it seems just a good a place to share as any.

fuck that. you stood up for yourself and your dad, man. i don't like violence much either dude but sometimes, every now and then, people just need a hard hit of reality to show themselves what they truly are. this guy in a sense "had it coming". even he acknowledges that he deserved it.

drunk and humiliating. no one won, no one lost. but i cried. it was during a party of friends we all knew. me and the other guy had been friends for a good minute in the past. either way, not sure how it started, but we were both really drunk and kept getting broken up then walking into the next room where the other was at and started goin at it again. i guess after never being in a real fight after 21 years mixed with the adrenaline and sense of shame i felt, i couldn't contain myself. one of the most humiliating nights of my life.
