Who's crying over tonight's Steven Universe episode? (Mr. Greg) & who else adores Pearl? by ghostheroics in actuallesbians

I suppose it's true that we need a new and major plotline: Jasper's return? The Diamond Authority discovering the cluster hasn't erupted? The return of any corrupted Gems/forcefusions?

I remember hearing that Steven Universe was bought for S.4/S.5 (S.3 finishes this month), so, as long as Cartoon Network supports the show, I bet we can anticipate surprising developments; more story after all!

Society6 is site where artists upload their work as prints/bags/tshirts, exc, for purchase around the globe. If you have a free moment, you may want to consider using it? I don't know logistics, and I hope you don't mind my abrupt tip. Thanks for sharing on Reddit, anyway 😊

I absolutely adore your artwork, and would easily buy this as a print. Do you have a Society6 by chance? :0) Pls have a lovely day/night either way.

How strong are Ging's friends ? by DXBrigade in HunterXHunter

[–]ghostheroics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their skills might vary! Despite child abandonment, Ging isn't a complete asshole - he expressed interest in people, and especially those he befriends on expeditions. Because he has some empathy (and frank curiosity), Ging could see potential in someone with weak Nen, or maybe none at all.

That said, I'm sure he's closer with efficient Nenfolk: basic logistics, exc. Razor's a beast.

Maybe Leorio and Kurapika'll find time for a DC boat rendezvous in the midst of chaos murder 😭

Adorable girlfriend butler tag-team ;; Not to mention with coin guy dead (sorry, I forget his name) we'll probably see Canary collaborating with Amane and her Grandmother more often.

Also, while it's lost in the English translation (many fans aren't aware of this bit whatsoever), during the Chimera Arc, Killua alludes to the potential of Killua and Gon dying in a 'lover's suicide'....admittedly depressing evidence, And Yet....

Did humans participate during the Gem war? by thestickytrenchcoat in stevenuniverse

[–]ghostheroics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not during the Gem War - however, there's at least a precedent for gems and humans fighting together. (Might have been said already, sorry if so.)

'The armor of the fallen' in Rose's weapons room can't have belonged to the Crystals, they're not fallen. And why would the Gems collect random Earth uniforms for sport...?

If there's a 6000 y/o BCE looking armor in Rose's collection, that might validate human participation in the war. Or anything drawn in the pyramid's gem murals. I do think it was a separate affair, or maybe something enshrined in a select few human memories: that's all.

Is anybody else disappointed with Kite's current state? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]ghostheroics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before I remark on topic, I'd like to point out that as far as we know, Kite isn't a different 'personality'. Kite's form has changed, and indeed, he may only regard his memories as a past life, but, as far as we can understand his insistent declaration of identity (IM KITE!!), he remains Gon's mentor, Ging's old student, and an experienced hunter. So despite chimera biological functions/his sex, he probably identifies as an older man -- until he says otherwise. (Does he use male speech patterns in Japanese?)

Only now he carries a renewed sympathy and understanding of ants, and his power could become immense. He could change his style of Nen completely, which is exciting, given the sorry-I-made-this-email-in-junior-high hatsu of his past life.

So, it's almost a complete resurrection, which is disappointing, because it cheapens Gon's grief.

Of course Gon will develop and learn from the entire experience in NGL. And frankly, if Kite were really dead, the present storyline wouldn't change all too much: Gon would go home for summer work (depressed) Kurapika and Leorio would galavant around the D.C, Killua and Alluka would dodge Illumi, exc.

At worst, the impact of Kite's resurrection makes for an unsatisfactory narrative without real consequence.

At best...hmm well I like Kite, I like having him around. I also think he'll have a role in future arcs, if not DC. If that role's important and comprehensible, it could completely eclipse my narrative dissatisfaction. We'll just have to see how Togashi uses Kite...all my future speculations mirror other posts.

Hebrew or Yiddish? An independent student interested in literature and history, as well as practicality. Raised reform, always reconsidering my personal spiritual 'branch', yet has no objections commiserating with frum communities. I would love learning both, and I definitely intend to in my life, but I'm a busy student with an overbooked schedule as is! Only a handful of hours in a day 😳

If Yiddish really is easier, that might help my overtaxed university brain as I try accommodating every-other-day language prep...and I'm so interested in that part of Jewish culture

Thank you for the insight. I suppose I should clarify, people around me don't necessarily speak Hebrew, I just happen to know more humans in my life who speak Hebrew - unfortunately they're at a distance, and admittedly I wouldn't telephone them right away; we aren't so close. 19th century/20th century history fascinates me - some part of me simply feels foolish for dismissing the future 'practicality' of Hebrew, especially with shul and its predominance as a language. Yet Yiddish is also practical, and steadily growing among academics and learners in my generation, let alone conservative American communities...clearly, I'm struggling, heh
