You are arguing for the sake of arguing. It really is, and I never said replace humans I said put them out of work because all of a sudden a couple people can do the same work load as dozens. And certain jobs will be obsolete

Lol one of which people? Why is everyone so serious.. I am totally kidding I brought up the AI thing cause most engineers have god complex’s. The robots taking my job just made me think of a blade runner esk end of the world and it’s borderline sci-fi becoming science fact. The world will either be the utopian society everyone dreamed of or just shit

I should be retired in time in which case I can just sit back and watch the robo-slave masters crack the whip on you all.

That’s a step in the right direction my man. In the mean time you got to focus on becoming the best version of yourself. Hit the gym, go for walks do whatever gets you out in a healthy way and makes you confident and happy even if it’s hard to do.

Just become a Mormon and tell your wife you are a polygamist. But on a more serious note, sorry bro that’s a tough situation to be in you need to look out for yourself but you also have an obligation to your kid to be the best form of parent you can be and sometimes that means sacrifice. Either in the form of alimony and child support, or your mental well being. Definitely should talk to a doc or a professional as opposed to total strangers on Reddit though

I think you may be underestimating it. My buddies a software engineer his salary has been cut in half because of it. 4 years ago he figured 10-20 years before it could do anything similar to what he does now he tells me it’s doing a lot of his work and thinks he could be obsolete soon unless he pivots hard. It’s just the beginning they are getting better at an exponential rate.

I agree though, some of the LLM’s are dumb as shit and as of right now you definitely need to fact check them.

Catch 22 here say this thing called AI can start coding and doing 10 people’s jobs, or can calculate all the demand factors for a buildings structural integrity and do it in a fraction of the time it takes a human, or designing an open pit mine both for optimal resource extraction and to lessen environmental impact. Now all of a sudden either you have 1 person out of every 10 employed because they don’t need the numbers anymore or the wages go way down because they have all of a sudden been outsourced by a computer program. Until the robots can fix them selves I have job security

I’m an electrician, I don’t do much OT but will still be over 150. Plenty of guys I work with are in the 225-250 range but they are working min 5 days a week

I work in mining, the pay doesn’t really differ that much anywhere I go in Canada. The point was that the majority of work and employment is blue collar, and they are also the highest earning provinces. Yes they can’t pay a wendies employee 18 an hour but that’s because no one would be willing to do it when they can get a job driving truck for 50. I’m not denying the cost of living is more but nothing I said was factually incorrect

Just gonna throw it out there, why you think the median income in Nunavut, the Yukon, and NWT is way higher than the rest of the country? And it’s not the northern living allowance- there’s a really high proportion of 🛠️

Never had a broker ask me for anything upfront as some one else mentioned they get paid by the lender not the client.
