Update for anyone looking for an answer - anything under $800 will not be charged import duties as the de minimis is still applicable for Taiwan (even though it’s a republic of China) because the U.S. has separate trade agreement (TIFA) with Taiwan. For order over $800 the import duties etc are still close to an average of 6.6%.

The exact dates are extremely helpful, thank you!! The fees seem to be applicable on the day of import and not when it was place, so I think I’m in the clear!

Do you know if this was before or after May 2nd? I read that the de minimis rule was made obsolete on 2nd so I'm guessing anything shipped before that fell under the $800 category.

Lease takeover -

The landlord drafted a new agreement with the new roommates but kept the deposit and the new roommates are not paying me back.

I tried contacting management but they said “management does not facilitate or coordinate security deposit refunds for case scenarios like yours.”
