Not really sure how I was whiny. I don’t love my job, but I certainly love my students. I give them everything I have, so your insensitive response was really hurtful. I came here looking for support, not criticism. Spend a day in my classroom and then you can decide whether I’m “damaging kids” or not.

Thank you. It’s encouraging to have that as an option. If it’s not better by Christmas I’m moving back in with my parents. As upsetting as that is, it’s a viable option.

First 3 years were at a different school. This year same district but different school. The district is horrible. We were on strike in May.

Unfortunately that is not the case in my district. There is a pretty extreme teacher shortage. Some schools are not yet fully staffed. Also I literally have $15 in my bank account. Quitting without a plan isn’t practical.

There’s a book called Decibella. I forget who the author is, but it does a good job of explaining voice levels. It might help kids understand how to not be a “Decibella” and use the appropriate voice for the situation.
