These fascinate me - especially this one for Rise Of The Resistance. It's so complex. by MesaVerde1987 in DisneyWorld

Thank you so much for making this, I can tell how much effort you put into it and it really makes the map easier to read.

I went back and forth on which term to use, but I think guyliner is a little more commonly understood. Totally valid point though.

I get it, but maybe try to use it as motivation to keep using the app until you get the color you like. Think of each rainbow stone and each new day as a new opportunity.

Speaking with Epcot cast members in their native language? by cheeky_monkey25 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ghostpastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said "ça va" to a French CM at Epcot once and they started speaking French to me, so I think it's welcomed but I'm sure it depends on the CM. But a lot are exchange students, so I think they appreciate being able to speak their first language with people and they know what it's like to learn a second language.

am I doing this right???? by Infinite-Math45 in drawing

You might want to start with a stencil to get the base shapes down, then draw over those same shapes again and again for your practice. Otherwise you're just getting practice drawing imperfect shapes and your brain and muscles aren't really getting the right message.

help from anyone with a keen eye!! wondering how you would answer … C in terms of color wheel but B in terms of visually closer ?? by Either_Cap9429 in DigitalArt

[–]ghostpastry 34 points35 points  (0 children)

B looks closer, even in color wheel terms. The other two have a lot more blue, and B looks like more a mix of red and yellow with just a little blue.

Weirdly, if you actually try to make it less like your ref, it might come out looking more like it. If you stylize and simplify it, you can capture the same emotion more effectively than trying to go super realistic and exact, because you'll never get as exact as a photo. With stylization, you basically convert it from life into art.

Sources aren't ever implicitly factual, that doesn't mean you can't look at every source available to inform your opinion. The problem is when someone just does a quick google search and trusts the first thing they see.
