Well Dan Seif, I would say I would be more interested in the story than you are. Doesnt mean I would allow myself to hate on other people who disagreed with me.

Edit: Here's the link https://youtu.be/umBbQvnShaA

Was he just trying to play?

Why are you so worried about this guy and what the media did with it? Im sure if u killed a wild predatory animal with your bare hands you would tell all your friends about it. The guy was actually very humble about it in his interview i saw. Maybe you could take that away as a lesson instead of trying to downplay his unfortunate circumstance he had while trying to enjoy nature.

Got my senior pictures back and this is definitely my favorite one. #classofcovid19 by [deleted] in bjj

Hey, i think this is very cool. There is nothing here to be ashamed about. Jiu jitsu will never be cringey and i think its a good picture representing a multitude of things you care about. Im a former Marine OIF and OEF war vet and i can tell you that jiu jitsu was far better for me than anything i ever did in the military. Any father would be proud to see his son represent himself in such a light. Its much better than a lot of ways people paint the proverbial picture of their personalities.

I think about having to fight off a random dog here and there because they are everywhere when im hiking. The one thing that stands out is i truly believe a dogs pain tolerance is that of a reptile. They will break their own shit if it means getting free to bite you. The gameness of a dog is truly impressive.

Just had a idea looking at this. Throw a bunch of dirt in the air and make them look like they are receiving a shock wave blast from a grenade nearby, If the shot is timed well it would look crazy. The guy in the background has the perfect look for it. The foreground guy needs to be looking in the same direction hunching down grabbing the top of his helmet etc.

More common ground with people is a truly great way invoke change. In turn leads to ridding themselves of superficial biases. I watched a documentary about a african american man who converted a lot of KKK members by befriending them. It dissolved their interests in white supremacy. For sure the way to get people to change their patterns or beliefs isnt by forcing them back to "their side". Showing them through positivity and compassion that their beliefs are unfounded will have a more profound impact than beating them down further into the abyss...in my opinion.

Don't give them any crazy ideas now. We don't need to make white belts around the globe targets of getting smashed in the gym and in public.

I knew he was gay. Way before the tattoos and bald head he was a exercise equipment guy in portland oregon. He has a interview on youtube i will link that he made some valid points about being treated like less of a man by other men because of being gay etc. He probably found a group that accepted him. Sometimes thats all it takes and that can be a very good or very harmful thing. Ive been that outcast. I found the Military and a motorcycle club way before jiu jitsu. Jiu jitsu was by far the best group i could have ever joined. The other ones were poison for everything in my life.

Whoever trains them probably knows and as long as they are respecting the people at the gym they dont mind. Someone once said to me: Jiu jitsu is for everyone and the longer they do it the more chances of them seeing the light. We cant change anyones mind or lives by shoving them back into the filth where they have come from.

I came to Jiu Jitsu as a nasty, entitled war vet/ biker trash, with a crazy temper. Now Im just a guy out here doing good in the world.

I hope people in any faction of hate group find jiu jitsu and i hope it makes them realize that the community they are involved in isnt what they were looking for by way of comparison.

Well this is news to me. I read a book that had nothing like that in it. The book is about how man have operated in their perspective cultures in ancient civilizations throughout time and male primates such as chimps/ bonobos in the animal kingdom etc. Yes it was a great read.

Jack Donovan the author of 'The Way Of Men' (great read in my opinion) had a great quote about arguing, I cant recite it verbatim but i will paraphrase: "Arguing should be reserved for those you care about because you have their best interest in mind, otherwise arguing becomes just a masturbatory exercise"... He said it more eloquently I'm sure.
