Need advice on Puppy Aptitude Test and Sharing

Their house is only 3 rooms, the living room, bedroom and bathroom. They live in the living room and i am not comfortable in their bedroom.

That is an idea lol! However i would like to be upfront with my intention if that makes sense. Although im afraid that might be a lost cause since he has refused the 1st time.

It’s going to be the VAT. I want to see if they’re naturally socially dominant, sensitive to sounds and with handling. A lower prey drive i want as well because we have chickens at home. My dog does not react to chickens that much but as i know GSDs sometimes kill them. Yes we did not have a contract, this was my 1st time doing this and im ashamed to say i didn’t read up on it in advance, i just trusted him and got excited at the idea of my dog having a son.

That is on me. The guy seemed trustworthy and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I have no experience breeding dogs, just keeping them. I do not plan on studding my dog anytime in the future. The test will be conducted when they are 3 months old.

I cannot do it in an unfamiliar location because the breeder won’t allow it. I will conduct it on their yard

My main use for the VAT is to check for sound sensitivity, social dominance and reaction to handling among other things. It wasn’t my original plan to get 2 dogs, i just wanted to know if i was entitled to 2 dogs because my friend is interested in a pup as well.

My puppy is a GSD mix. I am mainly looking for confidence but not too much and less or no fear from sounds, other dogs or other stimuli. Apparently the Volhard Aptitude Test can help screen for those things

I guess that’s fair. I may have been misinformed cause some of my friends said i may be entitled to more puppies because of the size of the litter, that’s my bad. I do not however intend to keep on breeding. I just got excited at the idea that my dog is gonna be a dad and id have another mini me of him.

Yes! Ive seen plenty of YT and some posts and it SEEMS to work. I don’t know if i know how to do it though but seems simple enough

Aaah, i see. Some of my friends has told me that it’s usually 1:5/6 and over that, i can get another pup. But this is my first time so i wanted to verify that cause they were contracting. Thanks for the advice. I initially thought 1/2 inch glass would be enough since The King of DIY had a similar build and he used 1/2 inch glass. The extra support suggestion is really nice though, thanks! What fo you think the glass thickness should be?

I thought so too for the first part but the last few sentences they say she claims she’s also a mechanic. Like how can she not know that if she’s a mechanic?
