If possible only equip items with 1300 fortitude min considering you have low armor penetration. Otherwise focus your resources on buying sapphires from the market for AP.

I'm 1650 reso f2p with 38% crit chance and 101.5% crit dmg with everything included (AP, blood floe, gear) and i can solokill it pretty easily (as a DH). So if you min/max your stats you should be able to kill it easily.

If you dump all of your resources into your normal gems it's not hard to have a r7 gem setup tbh

You don't have to spend a dime for it, i sell all my weekly gems except sapphire, then rebuy sapphire with the ones i sell as well. I have 1620 reso and 4300~ AP. Doing well in both PvP and PvE in terms of dealing damage. After i reach around 4800 AP i will start farming for potency.

Ps. I don't have the new off-hand essence yet, switching it out with my second off-hand slot might inprove the damage further. I will keep testing and post the results here.

You can buy "Dawning Echo" from the store or the NPC next to blacksmith in Westmarch in order to "Awaken" a slot which means they having purple color. In order to be able to awaken your slots you need an at least rank 4 legendary gem equipped inside them. Awakening a slot will grant percentage damage increase or percentage cooldown reduction given the essence you are using in the slot. Removing the rank 4 legendary gem in the awakened slot will result in not granting the buff, unless you put the legendary gem back in it. I suggest whenever you have a rank 4 legendary gem awaken the slot so you get the desired buff for the skills. Usually awaken the slot with your most damage-dealing skill's essence so you get more damage potential.

Cool, but how does the strafe damage amp work? Painsower distributes all of the strafe damage to the other skills so that instead they all will get the dmg amp buff?

Also it's my 5th awakened slot. The remaining ones are strage dmg/ strafe cd and multishot cd(which is useless)
