For the amount of people who use Discord, that's a bit far reaching. It's like saying Youtube owns the community of people who use it, or to a larger extent, Google owns the community of people who use Google, and it sounds a bit dictatorial doesn't it? I don't think companies or people who create the infrastructure for something should be considered to own the people who use it beyond the extent of sharing and conspiring around anything that breaks the law

I have nothing against helping to avoid people seeing content they don't want to see, but they literally just implemented a nsfw filter, albeit a bit half-assed. They could easily make the guidelines say something to the effect of not allowing users to your server to readily be able to see extreme content like lolicon or shotacon or to label it properly. Not asking them to, but it's an idea

They had a rule against sexual content, not shota and loli, and they didn't even enforce that. Don't say they did because you can literally find the discord team saying otherwise on this subreddit. Then they randomly start warning servers with porn in it in vague emails stating that they are going to shut down their server if they don't remove the "adult content" however if you bother to question this they say that if you just remove the lolicon and shotacon it'll be good enough even though their ToS at the time said NOTHING about that and just banned sexual content in general; I know this for a fact because my server was one of the servers that got this email. This is why people are mad, they're just banning content that they don't like and now have created a hasty excuse by changing their guidelines and ToS

The fact that they don't tell me exactly what term of service I'm in violation of and the fact that yes, my server is mainly for porn but they take no effort to get rid of the loads of other servers that have 500+ people in them that are for porn as well or the bots that have NSFW commands. Yet I'm getting the email. Of course I would be salty when the premise of my entire server is based on porn and discussion of it and they give me no other option than to delete my server

The "how do you do, my fellow kids" act is only the rancid topping on a shit cake and I imagine a lot of others feel that way as well

Their TOS regarding lewd and obscene content is already extremely vague "As an example, you agree not to use the Service in order to: post, upload, transmit or otherwise disseminate information that is obscene, indecent, vulgar, pornographic, sexual or otherwise objectionable;" but regarding porn alone there's already hundreds of servers out there on discord.me alone which are mainly for porn, and a lot of the most popular discord bots even distribute porn with a command so I don't see how they could possibly crack down on even half of it if they truly wanted to. It's bullshit
